Today's cool cat spotlight is shining down on Short Rib! He's the sweetest, coolest cat around! An amazing mix of Siamese (those eyes!) and orange tabby make this guy one unique boy! Plus, not to be missed in this magical mix of genetics is his short semi-fluffy tail! It's how he got his name, and we think it's super adorable! This guy is something special, and he's ready to find his people! Come check him out!

Today I wanted to spotlight sweet boy, Hagrid! He's a resident in our 'doggery' building - only 1-2 years old and a big ole' love. He came from a Granite Shoals colony, wasn't super interested in us humans - but he's come full circle now! He lays around for pets, hangs out around us instead of with the more feral crew. We think he's going to make someone a great house cat given the chance! Though he'd prefer to be indoor/outdoor - he can catch a mouse that's for sure, we've seen him!

He's a big boy, and a lynx/lilac point siamese with pretty blue eyes! Let us know if you are interested in bringing this big loaf of bread home! 🥰

We are working hard to improve the living spaces for our feline population! Part of that will mean discarding most of our old, worn out cat trees and cat furniture! We would love to replace them with these! Kuranda cat trees can be fully cleaned/sanitized and used with washable bedding, unlike carpet cat trees. We will need a variety of sizes, and quite a few cat towers to use in each of our 3 buildings! If you want to help us create new cozy spaces for all of our furry friends, please consider donating one of these items from our wishlist! And PLEASE SHARE with all of your cat loving friends! If anyone has a working dryer they are looking to find a home for - or a large capacity washer, we are looking! Our machines run constantly in each building and in one building we are trying to set up two sets to help get thru the daily laundry that keeps piling up! Or if you just love washing and folding laundry while petting cute cats - we could use volunteers! Here is a photo of one of the babies that would be available for petting if you were up to the laundry challenge! 😻

We have plenty of non-laundry volunteer opportunities as well, so don't be shy!

What a great (and productive!) couple of days! Friday we had Marble Falls High School out for Rick Edward’s Day Of Service, and today was the Texas Exes! Everybody pitched in and helped us move through a lot of projects we had been needing to get done! We had so much fun with both groups and we truly appreciate all the amazing help! 😻

Buuurrrrrrr, it's cold outside!! 🥶 But that doesn't stop the work going on at LLAR! We are hard at work renovating our 'Sanctuary building'! New paint job, paneling in the kitchen, floors, baseboards coming soon - the works! This old house was desperately in need of an update. We want to make it a beautiful oasis for our resident felines, as well as a fun place for potential adopters (and our cat loving visitors!) to hang out in! But this takes funding! If you want to donate to this cause, we would so appreciate any help! I have included a donation link, but also a few things we are looking to get for the new space when it's ready for kitty decor!

At Living Love, our mission is to protect animals, support the people who care for them, and operate with compassion and integrity. Like any organization, Living Love has moved through periods of challenge and change, and we are currently in a time of transition.

As 2025 comes to a close, this is a meaningful moment to reaffirm our core purpose and to bring together the dedicated people, who make Living Love possible, around a shared commitment: providing the care, love, and attention our animals deserve each and every day.

Over the past year, the Board of Directors has taken deliberate steps to strengthen leadership and clarify priorities. This work has included careful review, thoughtful adjustment, and forward planning, all focused on building long-term stability and the highest standard of care while staying true to our mission. Our focus is also on supporting the staff and volunteers who carry our values into daily action, safeguarding our animals, and continually improving the way care is delivered.

With steady leadership and shared values, Living Love is moving ahead with focus and resolve. As we prepare for 2026, we do so with deep appreciation for the community that continues to stand with us. The mission remains strong, and the work underway reflects a genuine commitment to carrying it forward with care, integrity, and determination.

UPDATE: Fanta has been transferred to APA to hopefully find an amazing home soon! We will miss you, buddy! ♥️

We wanted to post a few recent photos of one of our remaining adoptable dogs, Fanta! Fanta is just 2 years old, and we would love to find this guy a home like his very lucky friend, Apollo! Fanta is a golden beauty - he needs to be spending his days being spoiled not in a kennel! If you are looking to add to your family, how about giving this gentlemen a chance? Fully vetted, good with other dogs and would likely do fine with a dog friendly cat. He has lived in a home previously, Fanta's adopter was in the military and deployed so he unfortunately had to be returned to us. So we are sure he would be very happy to fall back into home life!
