DOG ADOPTION FEES ARE $0 THROUGH MAY 17.

Thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters event, dog adoption fees are sponsored at Hill Country Humane Society.

And we need this right now more than ever.

We have had an absurd number of intakes, and every single kennel is full. Dogs are waiting. More animals keep coming in. We are out of space, and we need dogs moving into homes immediately.

The good news is, you do not have to make a forever decision on the spot. You can foster first!

Take a dog home, give them a much needed break from the shelter, and you have two weeks to decide before making it official.
And even if it does not end up being the perfect fit, it still helps.
That dog gets a well-deserved break from the kennel, and we learn more about who they are in a home, which helps us find the right match for them.

No adoption fee.
No pressure.
No rushed decision.
Just a real chance to see who they are outside of a kennel.

Shelter dogs are not themselves in this environment. The noise, the stress, and the overcrowding are hard on them. A home changes everything.

Every dog adopted or fostered opens a kennel for the next dog who needs us.

All dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go.

Hope all our clients and their mom and dads are staying warm, dry and safe. Be careful how long your paws stay on the frozen ground. Ellie Mae would stay out there for longer than her skin can handle if we let her.

🚨 Winter Weather Advisory – Pet Safety Reminder 🚨

With dangerously cold temperatures and winter weather impacting our area, it is NOT safe for animals to be outside right now. Frostbite and hypothermia can set in within minutes, even for healthy pets.

🐾 Please remember:
•Bring pets indoors. No animal should be left outside in these conditions.
•Frostbite happens fast—ears, tails, noses, and paws are especially vulnerable.
•Watch ice melt products. Many are toxic to pets if licked or absorbed through paws.
•If your pet must go outside for a quick potty break, limit time outdoors and dry their paws immediately when they come back inside.

♥️Watch out for your pets and for each other. Check on your elderly or housebound neighbors. Community is important in times like these♥️
