It was a busy weekend for Animal Balance programs in Texas.
Our Texas Cat Pack trapped and sterilized 93 cats on Saturday, bringing us to a total of 799 cats spayed/neutered in Central Texas so far this year!
Meanwhile, in South Texas, our team on the ground at the Humane Society of Harlingen fixed 71 cats and dogs from the shelter spay/neuter backlog over the weekend.
Any weekend that ends with more than 160 sterilizations is a win in our books! Thanks to all of our partner groups for making this lifesaving work possible! It truly takes a village to make this work happen.

706 !!! That's the total number of cats that have been spayed/neutered through our Texas Cat Pack collaboration since April 2021 !
Last week our team sterilized 126 cats at PetPALS in Marble Falls, and another 42 cats were fixed through our mentorship program with Pet Prevent a Litter - PALS in San Marcos.
We are so grateful to all of our partners who have made this lifesaving work possible, including our partner clinics, Best Friends Animal Society, and all of the local cat groups who supply us with cats, Lampasas Community Cats, Blanco County Cat Coalition, San Saba Friends of Animals, and Hill Country Cats.
This is hard work that would not be possible without the commitment and cooperation of all groups involved.
Please donate to help us continue to provide humane population management to these high risk cats. Community cats are still routinely euthanized at many rural Texas shelters, and sterilization is the best way to stop this from happening.
