Meet Sword! 🐾

Sword is a 4-year-old Labrador Retriever and Dr. Lamberth's dog—the first dog her husband actually got to pick out himself.

Born on June 6th, Sword was named after one of the Normandy landing beaches by Dr. Lamberth's husband, a Ranger-qualified paratrooper.

Unfortunately, Sword hasn't exactly followed in his dad's military footsteps.

Despite his tough name, he's terrified of the family cats, guinea pigs, and men wearing hats. His favorite activity is sleeping, preferably while touching at least one family member at all times. His favorite toys are any stuffed animals belonging to the kids (whether they're intended for him or not).

Like a typical Labrador, Sword will enthusiastically eat just about anything and everything—except Brussels sprouts. He is incredibly eager to please, endlessly loyal, and proof that sometimes the bravest-looking dogs are actually the biggest softies.

We wouldn't have him any other way. ❤️

The Fourth of July can be a stressful time for many pets. If your dog or cat struggles with fireworks, now is the time to prepare.

Make sure identification tags and microchip information are current, create a safe space indoors, and talk with your veterinarian about options to help keep your pet comfortable during the holiday.
