One of the biggest mistakes we see in reefing:

People chasing expensive equipment before learning stability.

A high-end light won’t fix:

* unstable salinity
* overfeeding
* poor maintenance
* rushed stocking
* parameter swings

You can grow beautiful coral in a simple system if your tank stays stable consistently.

Most successful reef tanks aren’t built from buying everything at once.

They’re built from patience and consistency.

Slow changes > constant changes.

We’re excited to have you out to the shop!

🏠 We are located inside a barn on the same property as our home, just past the main house.

📍 GPS may drop you at the house. If it does, just continue past the house and you’ll see the barn.

📶 Cell service can be spotty in the barn. We’re currently setting up Starlink to improve internet connectivity, which should help us respond to calls and messages more consistently while we’re in the shop.

We know the setup is a little different the first time, but once you’ve been here, it’s very easy to find and worth the trip.

One of the hardest parts of owning a reef store is when someone loses a fish quickly and assumes the fish was unhealthy.

Most of the time, the issue actually happens AFTER the fish leaves the store.

A few common causes:

* adding fish too quickly
* stress during transport
* salinity swings
* not acclimating long enough
* aggressive tank mates
* immature tanks
* low oxygen/high nutrients

A healthy fish can still crash fast in the wrong environment.

That’s why we spend so much time asking questions before we sell livestock. We’d rather help you succeed long-term than make a quick sale.

Reefing has a learning curve and even experienced hobbyists lose fish sometimes. The goal is learning your tank and building stability over time.
