Good news! We have another truck of coastal coming in Monday or Tuesday. Bad news, about 80% of it is presold. We don't expect the rest of it to last more than a few days. And, the farmer cannot tell us when we'll get our next truck. As bad as hay supply is right now, expect it to be worse this winter. If they can't sell us hay now because there is none, what magical fairy is going to fill the barns for winter storage? Prices are high now, and they will likely be higher this winter. Remember when we cussed diesel going from $1.40 (Trump era) to $3.00, just to see it go all the way to $5.49? Now we are thankful it's back down to $4.39. Expect hay prices to do the same. It's basic economics. And it starts at the farm, not the feed store. We actually make less money at $14.50 than we did at $10. So stock up while you can.

We still have 3-string alfalfa in stock. 3-string bermuda from California is on hold indefinitely until trucking prices drop. Current trucking prices would add $4/bale to the cost. We do have beautiful 2-string coastal for the same price per pound as the 3-string. Get 50c off per bale when you buy in the 21-bale bundle.

Also, check out our new dog food! ZERO from HiPoint. It's a budget friendly alternative to Victor. 50 # bags for roughly the same price as Victor's 40 # bags. Corn, wheat, and soy free. Has Probiotics, Glucosamine and Chondroitin also. Made in the USA!

Delivery is still available. $5/mile, $50 minimum. $5.00+ diesel is killing us! We encourage people to come by the store to save the delivery cost or ask a neighbor to pick up the hay and feed when they're in the area.

Finally here! 2-string Texas Coastal. 735 bales!

Just $12.99 per bale. Buy by the bundle and save $0.50 per bale (21 bale bundle). (Must be able to load in truck or trailer without breaking the bundle.) Discount applies to delivered hay as well, by the bundle.

We still have our amazing California three string. The price per pound is roughly the same, but many people said they couldn't lift the beautiful, but heavy 100 # bales. Our customers have gotten used to our superior quality and we finally found some in a 2-string package.

So stop by the store and get yours today.

Warning regarding feeding your dogs human food (and we do this A LOT!):

Xylitol — Popular Sweetener That Can Be Deadly to Your Dog

Xylitol is a popular artificial sweetener that can be deadly to your dog.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the accidental consumption of xylitol by a dog can cause a sudden and life-threatening drop in blood sugar, seizures, liver failure and… death

Food products that may contain xylitol include certain brands of peanut butter… which can sometimes be used as a tasty “stuffing” for Kongs® and other chewable dog toys.

Other products that may contain xylitol include:

Chewing gum
Peanut butter
Breath mints
Mouthwash
Candies
Toothpaste
Baked goods
Tooth whiteners
Chewable vitamins
Sugar-free desserts (like “skinny” ice cream)

Inflation relief is here! We've picked up a new line of dog food that is comparable to Victor, but considerably less expensive. 40 pound bags of Victor are now pushing $50 per bag! But our new High Point ZERO dog food comes in three varieties, all of which include glucosamine and condroitin for joint health. They are also corn, wheat, and soy free, loaded with vitamins and biotin, and balanced with wholesome brown rice and sorghum. As if that isn't good enough, they also come in 50 # bags. That's 25% more feed per bag!

28/20 (28% protein, 20% fat; active and puppy) $39.99
24/20 (standard adult dog) $38.99
22/12 (weight control; senior dog) $37.99

Dollar per pound, you can save almost 40%!

Be forewarned: There is a massive trucking crisis occurring. Fuel rates have increased about $400/load from California where we get our amazing hay. That’s about $1/bale. However, the trucking industry has taken advantage of the rebounding economy, the free government handouts, and the shortage of drivers and have nearly inelastic pricing.

For those of you who slept through high school economics, that means they can set their own price. Higher prices are not increasing the supply of drivers to find an equilibrium.

A truck that cost $2600 in 2019 and early 2020 is $5600 today. And even at over $5000 we still cannot secure a truck!! That’s $7 per bale increase.

So next time you go to a grocery store or a feed store or a restaurant and your jaw drops due to the price, don’t blame a farmer or a store, blame the trucking companies and drivers.

It is out of control. I’m a capitalist at heart, but when a truck driver makes more than a lawyer or doctor, something seems out of whack. To put it in perspective, the fuel cost for our hay load that is a 2-day drive is about $1000. That leaves $4500 for truck maintenance and driver pay for 1600 miles and two days.

Raise your hand if you make that kind of coin. If I’m not at work tomorrow, it’s because I’m at the registrars office at Tommy’s Truck Driving Academy.

Are truckers necessary? Sure! So are cops, teachers, garbage men, and the guy who restocks the shelves at night. Imagine if teachers just stopped showing up unless they got $160k/yr. imagine if the kid who sticks the shelves wouldn’t do it for less than $50/hr. Imagine if the garbage men let your trash pile up unless they got $100/hr.

We are all essential in some fashion, but one industry (which used to be controlled by the mafia and teamsters) has decided to cripple our economy simply because they can.

Like $35 alfalfa and $4 heads of lettuce? Thank a trucker. Don’t believe me? Watch the news. This is just my personal anecdote in a sea of similar stories.

So you've seen the news about the people getting sick taking Ivermectin. There is a lot of misinformation out there. We are supposed to be getting in more ivermectin next week, but in advance of that, we felt we should post some unbiased information. Read it fast. FB will likely censor it. Truth be damned.

Here are some facts. If you disagree or are a scientist or medical professional, the FB thought-police, or just a very well informed citizen, then feel free to debate or correct where needed.

Ivermectin is a drug. It is a chemical formula or compound. There is no difference in the drug molecule from "human" to "animal" treatments. The idea of "horse ivermectin" is misleading because ivermectin is ivermectin. It's like saying "caffine from coffee is different than caffine from tea." In fact, it's a lot like saying that. Caffine is caffine. It's a molecule. If it's not the identical molecule, then it's not caffine. Water is H2O no matter if it's in your pool or in your toilet. Of course, there's probably more than just H2O in your pool and toilet. But anything that isn't H2O isn't water. (Heavy water isn't water, it's heavy water for you chemistry nerds. I'm on to you... )

Ivermectin is safe for humans...when taken correctly. Ivermectin is prescribed by doctors for a number of ailments. When a person takes it for "off-label" uses, it's exactly that. It doesn't mean it doesn't work, it just means it hasn't been thoroughly tested, paid for, and signed off on. Sometimes it's as simple as there's no money in testing it so why bother. It also doesn't mean it's not without risks! And just because your friend took it and didn't die doesn't mean you won't die. It's like COVID. Many people get it with no ill effects. A few (statistically very few) get it and die. Without a doctor's prescription, you may not get the full story or you might not know the proper dosing or you might not be aware of contraindication or conflicts with your current medication. Think of it like something as simple as mixing ammonia and bleach. Both are common household cleaning materials. They are both generally safe. But not when mixed. In fact, it can be deadly.

News about people getting sick from ivermectin: Almost all of them are from improper dosing. The clinical prescription for ivermectin is generally 150 to 200mcg per kg. If you are like 99.99% of most Americans, you slept through unit conversion and basic fractions in high school. You have a hard time making change without a cash register. And you have no idea what a "microgram" is. Add to that the fact that injectable ivermectin (one of the types we sell) is 1% Ivermectin in a 50ml bottle, and the brain explodes. Too many units. Too many numbers. So here's how it breaks down: 1ml/110lb gives you the 200mcg/kg dosing. Now you can see how someone might take half a bottle of ivermectin and end up in the hosptial. Likewise, horse paste wormers are 1.87% typically and are dosed for a 1300lb horse! Ivermectin dosing, like drinking alcohol, can go south very quickly. A little does basically nothing. Some does fine. Too much kills you. Overdosing ivermectin, like overdosing alcohol, can be deadly!

Differences between "animal" and "human" ivermectin. It's true, like with food, that items marketed for animals can be different than the items for human. So, while the actual drug molecule is identical, screening for contaminants or other fillers or binders might have different scrutiny for, say, a paste wormer for a horse versus a pill pressed by a machine and packaged by a pharmacist. It's not the drug that is different, it's the binders or the "packaging". Not saying it isn't safe, but it might not be tested as safe and definitely isn't marketed for humans. Then again, I've eaten my dog's jerky treats (which are actually pretty good) and I'm still here typing this.

If you're having trouble sleeping at night, or what to study for the SAT vocabulary section (if they still do that), here's some light reading about what ivermectin is that's not tainted with ABC or NBC or Fauci's social agenda: https://www.drugs.com/pro/ivermectin-tablets.html

I typed more after this, but I guess FB is already on to me and deleted it before I even posted it. For those of you who know me, I could type for another hour. We'll just go with this. Hopefully you find the information useful. Share with your friends. And feel free to comment with some well thought out arguments or commentary.

Ivermectin Tablets official prescribing information for healthcare professionals. Includes: indications, dosage, adverse reactions and pharmacology.

We have been buried in requests for Ivermectin. Good news! We have an order in for paste wormers coming in shortly and an order for injectible Ivermectin following that. Better news! It's cheaper than Amazon!

We cannot recommend using the "intended for animal use" Ivermectin for human use, including to treat or pretreat Covid infection.

We also still have the best hay in town. We feel bad for local farmers. This perpetual rain is diabolical. Fortunately, we have a solid, consistent supply of top quality hay and alfalfa from California.

07/07/2021

Good news! We FINALLY have more California hay and alfalfa coming in. It has taken three weeks just to find a truck. Bad news, the trucking costs more than the hay! Trucking companies say it’s because no drivers want to work. They have the trucks and have the loads. Fuel is up some since last year but most of the increase in costs is simple because nobody wants to work.

It’s a national pandemic.
