📣c GOAL HAS BEEN MET!
We are so grateful for your support! ❤️
Ok, so now that things have slowed down a bit, we've had a chance to rethink what happened with Evie.
We misunderstood that Evie had been locked in her crate all night and was swollen when it was opened. Meaning she was not exposed to a bite possibility. It turns out, she sleeps in an open crate and the doggie door is locked overnight. THAT was the "door" that was opened. We think she went out quickly, was bitten, didn't come right back in with the others for breakfast and in the time Lynn realized she wasn't waiting for her bowl, she was laying on the porch, starting to swell. No Copperheads have been found on the property in a long time but there have been rattlesnake sightings, just not anywhere near the house (until now).
Evie is resting quite comfortably and the swelling is starting to move down. Our hope is that by the 3rd hyperbaric treatment, she will show considerable improvement.
She is on pain meds, is drinking and even eating a bit. Tail wagging and she's giving kisses. We will followup with her regular vet in the morning.
Meanwhile, we will continue to update on the main Evie post:
