Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch is an authentic working horse and cattle ranch located on 3200 acres in the Rocky Mountain foothills west of Loveland, Colorado. Family owned and operated by the Jessup Family since 1946, Sylvan Dale provides a natural setting for dude ranch vacations, destination weddings, corporate meetings & retreats. We also offer a wide variety of additional services like private meetings, holiday parties, picnics, reunions, family vacations, bed & breakfast, trophy fishing, horse riding, and other exciting outdoor adventures. Guests go on cattle drives and cattle roundups, trail rides, and overnight pack trips, take horseback riding lessons and play “Gymkhana” games on horseback, and experience the old-fashioned family hospitality and cowboy culture of the historic American West.

Wildlife Wednesday! This week brings you more sheep, but only one. We have a little ewe who has been hanging around solo this past week. She seems perfectly healthy, and we're not quite sure why she's going it alone. It's breeding season coming up, so maybe she's avoiding the boys. We will watch her closely, and hope she hangs around as a lawn ornament for now!

Tip your hat Tuesday goes out to our lesson students! We are blessed to be able to offer a seasonal lesson program to our locals of all ages. In the Spring and Fall seasons, we host a 6-week session for both Western Horsemanship classes and also the W.H.O.A Girl Scout Troop through the Heart J Center. In total, we have between 55-65 students each season. There are 12 total classes over the course of 3 days with roughly 16-20 horses and 3 instructors. Karen teaches 8 classes, Kelsey teaches 2, Melinda teaches 2, and Christen helped fill in this fall too! It takes a village to coordinate, but it's so very worth it. Enjoy some of the views from this past weekend!

Wildlife Wednesday! The bighorn sheep are certainly busy this time of year and they spend a lot of time going back and forth from the main ranch to Big T Ridge. We were fortunate to watch these two ewes jump the fence while we were in the lesson ring.
