Dr. Corteguera was born in Cuba and moved to Miami at a young age, where his love for animals and science began to flourish. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. Matthew’s University in 2025. Dr. Corteguera completed his clinical training at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he developed strong interests in soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. In addition to his veterinary training, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University in 2024, equipping him with valuable skills in leadership and clinic management. He is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care and building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Corteguera enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with friends. His diverse background and balanced lifestyle bring warmth and perspective to his work. Committed to lifelong learning and professional growth, Dr. Corteguera is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of the animals and families he serves.

Stormy is needing a new home…
Please share!

She is almost 5 years old, is up to date on vaccinations and blood work and is spayed as well. Her family has made the tough but considerate decision to rehome her, as she is not getting along with one of large dogs in the household. She has gotten along with other dogs as well as other cats, but is experiencing some behavior issues due to this tension.
She may also be experiencing some jealousy towards the young children in the home, which likely contributes to some of her changes in behavior. If you feel Stormy could thrive in your household, please contact Aleasha and Bruce. 334-538-3504 or 504-723-1812

Our Medical Director and Practice Manager were invited to a national leaders summit in Chicago this weekend. During this conference, Dr. Marble was awarded with the Compass Award, which appointed her “Medical Director of the Southeast region”! Out of many clinics, Longwood Vet received the Peak Performance award for the region, highlighting our success and hard work as a hospital! We are extremely proud and wanted to share this accomplishment with our entire LVC family and all our patients we get to care for!
