Holiday happiness and a huge shout out of thanks to the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment who took up a collection to donate to TCH. Even more items didn't make it into the photo and we are so appreciative of their generosity! This will help so many cats as we head into another year of rescue.

Sometimes you meet a cat that changes everything you thought you knew about love. Xander came to us in late 2024. He was old. Really old, and had a lot of issues, but his heart was pure gold so we rallied around him. In early 2025, we found an amazing foster for Xander who could stay on top of his needs and give him a home instead of just a room in the shelter. He thrived! In late September, Xander moved to another amazing foster when his original caregiver had to move out of state. She couldn't get Xander out of her mind and made the decision to formally adopt him so they could live out his days together. Xander is now in a car heading to Wisconsin because some things are worth coming back for.
