Mindy Johnson, DVM, CCRT, CHT-V, Eli Blevins, DVM, and Daisy Richardson, DVM, CVA, CHT-V bring their knowledge, compassion, and passion for veterinary medicine to every patient they care for.

Sweet Nat recently came to us after developing eclampsia, a serious condition caused by low calcium levels that can occur after a mother dog delivers and nurses a large litter of puppies.

Nat required IV medications and a continuous calcium drip, and it took three days to get her calcium levels stabilized. Thankfully, she's now on the road to recovery and back with her adorable puppies!

Eclampsia is a medical emergency and, if left untreated, can lead to seizures or even death.
⚠️ Signs to watch for include:
• Fever
• Muscle twitching
• Restlessness or unusual behavior
• Tremors or seizures

If your nursing dog shows any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately. Early treatment can make all the difference.
