From 8–9 AM, the pool belongs to the little guys! 🐶💨

That’s right — pups under 20 lbs get their own hour to splash, zoom, and paddle without the big-dog energy.
Think smaller cannonballs and less chaos. 🌊🐕‍🦺
Tiny swimmers only. Big dogs, you know we love you— but this one’s not for you.

🐾 Dogs over 20 lbs must register for an all-size session later in the day. Larger dogs will be asked to return for the correct session, and price differences will not be refunded.

We would like to take a moment to honor Susan Malcomb as she retires from the Lexington Humane Society. She has served as President the past 17 years and has spent countless years before that serving the animals of our community.

It was beautiful day to join Mayor Linda Gorton in declaring August 1st, 2025 Susan Malcomb Day!! The Lexington Challengers Tennis Tournament served as the backdrop for a celebratory luncheon to recognize her impactful career and community leadership.

Thank you Susan for your dedication, devotion and compassion for animal welfare.

Last night’s Bark in the Park was a huge event with our first-place LEGENDS WIN AGAINST THE HIGH POINT ROCKERS!

We had a great time meeting KSP Officers Cam and Charity who specialize in Electronic Storage Device Detection. These dogs help bring child exploitation predators to justice. Thank you to them and their trainers/handlers/drivers/families for their service!

We also got to check in with several past patients, meet some available adoptees and share BVS +AE info and swag with the community.

Our next Bark in the Park is Wednesday August 13th at the Lexington Legends. We can’t wait to see everyone there!!

Meet Boogie, a 9 year old lab mix and a patient of our Internal Medicine Department!

In January, Boogie's owner noticed an enlarged lymph node under his jaw and took him to his primary veterinarian. After a full work up by his primary care team, he was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma and referred to BVS + AE for treatment.

While this can be a scary diagnosis, Boogie was always a brave boy as he started his treatment and his owners supported him the whole way through! His chemotherapy regimen was 19 weeks long and included weekly visits for bloodwork, an examination by our internist Dr. Gavin and his treatment.

This week, we are so happy to announce that Boogie is officially in remission!

Our Internal Medicine Department (and the entire staff) is so glad to see Boogie feeling good and so grateful for attentive pet owners like his parents for taking such great care of him!
