PLEASE check your pups for cheatgrass! It’s a sneaky thing and very very easy to become a huge problem quickly.
I’ve already started seeing it cause abscesses between toes and pawpads. It’s something I check for at every single groom. While I can pull it off when it’s on the surface, once it gets in deep it causes massive infections that can need surgical intervention to get out.

Our boy had to have two surgeries last year because one single piece had migrated from between his toes up into his hock needing multiple rounds of antibiotics and a drain tube to get the infection out.
