Hello grooming, family. So I just wanted to address something really quickly. I’m having a lot of people show up before their dog is ready while he’s still on my table.  I promise I will call you the minute your dog is done. I don’t want them here any longer than necessary. When you walk in early and your dog sees you they instantly become anxious and I have scissors pointed at their eyeballs and they are moving around freaking out. It’s incredibly dangerous.  so if you would please just wait until I call you or text you to come collect your baby. If you come back early, please wait outside and text me. thank you

Sometimes we notice the little things.

During a grooming appointment, we're able to see and feel parts of your dog's body that are often hidden beneath their coat.

A small lump. Redness between the toes. A tender ear. Dry skin. Changes in coat quality. A new sensitivity to being touched. None of these automatically mean something is wrong—but they can be important clues.

That's why groomers will sometimes recommend that you keep an eye on something or schedule a visit with your veterinarian.

It's never meant to alarm you.

Think of it as having another set of caring eyes looking out for your dog.

You know your dog's routines, habits, and personality better than anyone. We simply get the opportunity to see them from a different perspective every few weeks.

When we work together, we become a team that's focused on one thing—helping your dog live a happy, healthy life.

Hello grooming family. I am taking a long weekend this weekend, so the shop will be closed starting tomorrow and I’ll be back in on Tuesday. Wishing you all a safe and happy Fourth of July and sending up doggy prayers for all of our babies like mine who are terrified of fireworks.

Sometimes it just takes longer 😊

Not every dog can be groomed on the same timeline.

It’s easy to compare ourselves to other groomers. We hear how quickly someone else completes a groom and wonder if we should be working faster too.

But the dog in front of us should be the biggest factor in determining how long a groom takes.

Some dogs stand quietly and enjoy every moment of the process. Others are nervous, sensitive, fearful, elderly, excitable, or simply need more breaks and reassurance along the way. Those dogs deserve the time they need.

Other groomers’ groom times can be helpful as a general reference point, but they shouldn’t be the standard by which we measure our success.

Success isn’t always about speed. Sometimes success is helping a nervous dog feel safe. Sometimes it’s getting through a difficult appointment with less stress than the visit before. Sometimes it’s making small improvements to at add up over time.

From one groomer to another: the dog should set the pace - not the clock.
