I have to say, I am super proud of Mirium. It can be hard when a show goes wrong especially after an already heartbreaking year. Her dad would be so proud of her though. She showed poise and maturity even through the setbacks. Never once did she have a harsh word towards her horse or her mom as I have often seen kids do. Never once did she blame Micky. She kept her spirit high and used the experience as lessons to be learned. She kept positive so she got a lot out of the trip. Proud of her as is her mom and her dad would be.

Mirium and Micky were looking strong and he was jumping well. Sadly he slipped on the wet grass of the early morning coming into a downhill jump and she popped off. Both are fine, Mirium is in good spirits and Micky however wasn’t finished yet and had a long gallop across the polo field to the far end of the Kentucky horse park. I had a long hike to retrieve him. He was feeling quite proud of himself and probably wondering why Mirium didn’t hang on for the ride.

Although not the dressage score Mirium would have liked, she rode Micky relaxed and he was obedient and soft. It’s been an emotional struggle for her to mentally prepare for this competition this year but she’s working through it. Tomorrow they run cross country and both she and Micky will be in their best element.

Good to get out again on the big guy.
Gator was good. Only one mishap when he yanked his shoe off coming into a downhill ramp.
Mirium and Micky got to knock some dust off as well before she heads to AEC’s in Kentucky.
