Kinda just really thought about this, but…..

Saw a horse trainer person tell a client "Doing X does not work so don’t do that”.

My first hought was that really nothing works at first.

And yes, even if you ask it perfectly, if the horse doesn’t know about it, it doesn’t matter how well you ask it.

You have to get it to where it works.

Granted, your approach and timing can determine a lot of things.

So, a new phrase at our clinics is “Don’t look for him to do it right --- look for him to do it 2% less wrong”

Moral of the story is . . .experiment, adjust, hang in there, AND BE AWARE

I’ve worked with horses all of my life, but this year I am branching out and learning to work with people as well. Big shout out to these great people willing to be my Guinea pigs ❤️. We’re two weeks into our c**t starting clinic!

Don’t worry guys, I have been fortunate enough to be taken under the wing at Valor Ranch here in VA. When I’m not at work, I am here at the barn doing what I love.

I am so grateful that they reached out to me, I think I would’ve gone insane otherwise.

I’ll be home in a little less than a year and we’re going to kick off 2026 with a bang!
