Winnie (A044922) is a 7yo tan mixed breed with the cutest little teefers ever! Winnie was recently featured by Second Shot Adoption Photos, and her sweet personality really shines through in the photos.

Winnie came to us as a stray – she had been seen wandering for a few weeks until a citizen brought her to the safety of our shelter. Winnie is a social girl! She is a regular play group participant and gets along well with other dogs.

We also recently took Winnie on a field trip to Veterans Memorial Park for a fun day out. She was a perfect pairing with her "boyfriend" Milo, and Winnie loved on everyone she could. She is a true sweet gem.

⚕️🐾 Pasco County Animal Services is offering a series of FREE vaccine & microchip outreach clinics, right in your community!

Our next clinic takes place Tuesday Morning, August 4th in Shady Hills:

PCAS is committed to ensuring that every pet in our community has access to essential preventive care—regardless of a family’s financial situation.

Vaccinations remain the most fundamental defense against highly contagious and often fatal—but entirely preventable—viral diseases. Core vaccines protect pets from threats such as rabies, distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus, and other dangerous illnesses that continue to circulate in Florida.

Microchipping is one of the most effective tools for reuniting lost pets with their families. A microchip provides permanent, scannable proof of ownership, helping to return pets home quickly and safely. A microchip also provides owners with legal protection by establishing clear, verifiable ownership.

🖤UPDATE ON OUR WONDER PUPPY!

Wonder is officially thriving in her foster home! She has finished her medication & is a happy, curious, bouncy puppy… just the way it should be.

Wonder’s foster mom is head over heels, and she continues to give Wonder all the love & care she needs and deserves.

ICYMI 🐾

Last week, with our heart on our sleeve, we asked our community for help to save the life of Wonder - a puppy who tested positive for Parvo, a highly contagious and life threatening viral illness.

Wonder was found dumped in a cardboard box outside of a Dunkin’. She was in a dire state, close to perishing. Thanks to our medical team’s quick response and vigilance, Wonder survived the night.

Wonder needed a safe place to try and continue healing where she could be isolated due to her condition.

Thanks to this amazing animal-loving community, Wonder was in foster within a few short hours!

Together, we are saving lives. We cannot do this without you. 🧡

Pasco County Animal Services is proud to share our new initiatives - from improved processes for our Animal Control Officers to creating better pathways & protocols for shelter pets experiencing kennel stress.

2026 welcomed new leadership to PCAS and a fresh perspective in progressive sheltering. Meet Director Gary Herrero and Assistant Director Samantha Blixt. They're building on the success of PCAS' foundation... and looking to bring even more life-saving and community connection to Pasco County.

FIVE PUPS found their forever homes during our Petsmart Saturday!

Special thanks & congrats to all of our adopters for coming out and giving these babies a fresh start.

Each Saturday, Pasco County Animal Services partners with Petsmart Trinity to bring you in-store waived fee dog adoptions. If you’re thinking about rescuing a shelter pet, or would simply like to visit and learn more about PCAS & our programs, come on in!

🧡Drako's Family Proves That Reunions ARE Possible!

When Drako slipped out of his home last week, his family immediately sprang into action to find him. They did everything right:

💻Drako's mom posted him on social media lost + found pages, apps like Nextdoor, and alerted Pawboost
📰His hooman sister created "lost dog" posters and hung them throughout the neighborhood

They spent the next several days walking the neighborhood and checked online for any sightings. Drako had never escaped before... and seeing that he's a spoiled house hippo, they naturally worried about him.

‼️The Pawboost alert came through Nextdoor - Drako was turned into our shelter yesterday!

They rushed over to reclaim him, and he kissed them nonstop 💋 No doubt he was THRILLED to be reunited with his family. Drako is now microchipped and safe with the people who love him most.

DID YOU KNOW? Most stray dogs are usually found within a mile or two from home. Posting online & hanging flyers are a very effective way of getting the word out if your pet goes missing.

Microchipping your pet is one of the most effective ways of getting them back home. A quick scan can identify an owner - which is also important for legal proof of ownership. Be sure to keep the info up to date & alert the microchip company if your pet goes missing.

PCAS is proud to announce our partnership with Petsmart Trinity and Petsmart Charities to bring you in-store dog adoptions every Saturday from 10am - 2pm.

Stop by and meet your new best friend, come in for freebies from Petsmart, or just swing through for info! For each dog adopted, Petsmart will also make a donation to help our shelter pets.

Come meet Spikey!! Spikey is the most chill black Lab you could ever ask for. He is a sweet senior who was found living in a backyard under not-so-great care. Spikey was featured on 28 Tampa Bay's Morning Blend this week!
