🐧Cody (A051018) is a 5-year-old, shepherd mix, and weighs 74 pounds. Cody was found as an injured stray last night in the New Port Richey area. Cody urgently needs a medical rescue placement. 🙏 😔

He arrived with an injured right front leg that was bleeding, and he is currently on bite quarantine after nipping the finder during the stressful moment of being confined. Since arriving at the shelter, he has been extremely kind and loving. He is thin, previously neutered, and showing swelling and drainage from his injured limb, with deep pain still present. Radiographs confirm a distal fracture of the right radius and ulna with significant soft‑tissue swelling. His care goes beyond the shelter’s capabilities, and he will need a full‑service or orthopedic veterinarian. .

🙏 🚨Due to severity, Cody is rescue ONLY. He is on bite quarantine and must remain within Pasco limits until his 10-day quarantine is up, however the severity of his injury is urgent. The timeline to save his leg is small and critical. Cody is an AS‑IS rescue only transfer case. He must receive a commitment by Thursday, 7/30 by 4pm.

⭐Ali (A050791) is a 3-year-old, black cat, and weighs 6 pounds. Ali urgently needs help after being found as a stray with a severely injured right hind leg that makes it difficult for her to walk. Radiographs show a distal femur fracture and a round metallic object near her spine, and she also has a mild abdominal abrasion. While PCAS has started initial care, Ali now requires intensive, ongoing medical management and diagnostics or surgery that the shelter cannot provide.

🙏 The shelter environment is no longer appropriate for her critical needs, and this sweet girl needs immediate rescue to ensure she gets the specialized treatment necessary for her chance at recovery. Ali is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and combo tested negative. Ali MUST receive a commitment by Monday 7/27 by 4pm. She is available rescue transfer ONLY. UPDATE, NEW DATE 7/29 4PM

💓Lucy (A051013) is a brown tabby kitten around 9 weeks old. Lucy arrived as a very sick kitten needing immediate medical attention. After arriving with a severe URI and dense yellow crusting over both eyes, making it impossible to visualize them normally. She also has thick nasal discharge and appears to have little to no vision, with concerns for bilateral microphthalmia or old trauma. She requires ongoing intensive medical care to clear her infection and then reassess her eyes for further treatment, but the diagnostics and care she needs go beyond the shelter’s capacity. While PCAS has begun supportive treatment, the shelter environment is no longer appropriate for her serious condition. Lucy is an AS‑IS rescue only transfer case. She must receive a commitment by TOMORROW, Wednesday 7/29 by 4pm.

♦️Laney (A051042) is a tan tabby kitten around 6 weeks old. Laney arrived as a very injured stray kitten after the finder reported seeing her thrown from a car. She is currently on scratch quarantine and is attempting to walk but cannot bear weight on her left hind leg. She has significant bruising along her inguinal area, is flea‑infested, and radiographs show fractures of her left distal femur and proximal left tibia, both consistent with Salter‑Harris injuries. An orthopedic consult is recommended, along with supportive care including fluids, heat support, pain control, and flea treatment. Laney is very sweet despite her trauma, but her injuries require diagnostics and treatment far beyond shelter capabilities. Due to severity, Laney is rescue ONLY. She is on scratch quarantine and must remain within Pasco limits until her 10-day quarantine is up, however the severity of her injury is urgent. The timeline to save her leg is small and critical. Laney is an AS‑IS rescue only transfer case. She must receive a commitment by Thursday, 7/30 by 4pm.

🧡Drako's Family Proves That Reunions ARE Possible!

When Drako slipped out of his home last week, his family immediately sprang into action to find him. They did everything right:

💻Drako's mom posted him on social media lost + found pages, apps like Nextdoor, and alerted Pawboost
📰His hooman sister created "lost dog" posters and hung them throughout the neighborhood

They spent the next several days walking the neighborhood and checked online for any sightings. Drako had never escaped before... and seeing that he's a spoiled house hippo, they naturally worried about him.

‼️The Pawboost alert came through Nextdoor - Drako was turned into our shelter yesterday!

They rushed over to reclaim him, and he kissed them nonstop 💋 No doubt he was THRILLED to be reunited with his family. Drako is now microchipped and safe with the people who love him most.

DID YOU KNOW? Most stray dogs are usually found within a mile or two from home. Posting online & hanging flyers are a very effective way of getting the word out if your pet goes missing.

Microchipping your pet is one of the most effective ways of getting them back home. A quick scan can identify an owner - which is also important for legal proof of ownership. Be sure to keep the info up to date & alert the microchip company if your pet goes missing.

Hawthorne 🖤 (A050783) is a 6-month-old, black and white puppy, and weighs 28 Pounds. Hawthorne was brought in as an injured stray from the New Port Richey area. Hawthorne urgently needs rescue help after arriving with staples in his left front leg and showing lameness in his right hind leg with crepitus, plus swelling in his left carpal joint. Radiographs reveal an old femoral fracture with subluxation of the femoral head and soft‑tissue swelling that may indicate further pelvic damage.

🙏 Although he is bright, alert, and responsive, his care now goes beyond what the shelter can provide, and an orthopedic evaluation is recommended. Hawthorne is being requested AS‑IS, and immediate rescue is needed to ensure he receives the specialized medical treatment he deserves. Hawthorne is an AS-IS rescue transfer ONLY case and MUST receive a commitment by Monday 7/27 by 4pm.

🐈‍⬛ Gigi (A049741) is a 13-year-old, black cat, and weighs 11 pounds. Gigi arrived end of June as a very sick stray cat from the Wesley Chapel area. Gigi’s congestion and appetite have continued to worsen despite being on medication since 6/30. She is still audibly congested and eating less, and she now needs a full‑service veterinarian to rule out possible underlying disease or chronic rhinitis that is beyond the shelter’s scope.
