We also care for sick patients and see patients for annual healthy visits. We believe no pet will walk in our doors and not be treated due to financial restrictions if within our means of helping! While these little ones are undeniably adorable, they're also especially vulnerable to illness during their first few months of life. Vaccinations play an important role in protecting them from serious diseases while helping them grow into healthy adult cats.

Since the recent rabies positive cat was located in our own Polk County, we have had an increase in people rushing to get their pets up to date on vaccines.

Our annual dog vaccine package is $80 and it includes an exam by our veterinarian Dr. Milligan, heartworm test, rabies vaccine, and a Dapp/Lepto vaccine.

We're making progress, but we've still got a long way to go!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've raised $16,000 toward our goal of creating a TLC PetSnip spay-and-neuter voucher program. Our goal is $50,000, and every dollar brings us closer to helping more pets receive affordable care.

Spaying and neutering help prevent unwanted litters, reduce shelter overcrowding, and support healthier lives for pets. By expanding access to these services, we can help more families care for their pets while making a lasting impact across Polk County.

Would you know where your pets would go during an evacuation?

Many emergency shelters do not allow pets, so it’s important to have a plan before a disaster happens.

During National Pet Preparedness Month TLC PetSnip recommends these tips to be prepared:
🏨 Research pet-friendly hotels ahead of time
👨‍👩‍👧 Ask family or friends if they can help in an emergency
🐾 Keep carriers labeled and easily accessible
📋 Store vaccination records in a waterproof bag

Never leave pets behind during an evacuation. If it isn’t safe for you, it isn’t safe for them.

⚠️ Graphic Medical Content Warning ⚠️

Today, Luna came for Angel Day thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc, and we are so grateful she did.

What was supposed to be a routine spay turned into a life-saving emergency surgery. Luna was suffering from pyometra, a severe and potentially fatal infection of the uterus.

Without surgery, pyometra can quickly become deadly.

Because of the Stand Up For Pits Foundation and their commitment to providing free spay and neuter services, Luna got the care she needed just in time. Today, her life was saved.

This is why spay and neuter matters.

It’s not just about preventing unwanted litters. It’s about preventing suffering, preventing emergencies, and sometimes saving a dog’s life.

Luna is recovering tonight because someone made the decision to get her spayed before it was too late.

We are so grateful to the Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc for helping us alter 20 community dogs today! This is an amazing foundation that helps to keep the most vulnerable population of dogs out of the shelters!

Spay and neuter is the solution! It prevents unwanted litters, keeps dogs out of shelters, and helps end the cycle before it starts. Donate to keep the program going!
