Good evening everyone
Uncle W***y just sharing some information with you tonight. I walked in the salon this morning, greeted everyone, everyone spoke back, and immediately I made this face...
"Whose breath was that?"
I immediately looked at Walter..."wasn't him". I looked at Crissy... She immediately says, "smell your upper lip." So, I made the face again. Not me.
It was a doggy! Woooooooooooome
I have never in my life smelt a dogs breath like that.
So, I made a dash online and did some research!
What I learned:
1. Dental care starts at home! Brushing your dogs teeth is the most effective way in preventing dental disease.
2. Start brushing at the puppy stage. Don't rush, make it positive, and be consistent! It takes some time for it to become a smooth process.
3. 80% of dogs will have dental disease by the age of 3! 80%! Many of our furry-friends don't show obvious signs of pain.
4. Dental disease doesn't stay in the mouth. It can affect the heart, kidneys, love...Clean teeth is a health thing.
5. Some signs could include: stank breath (like what hit me today), red/inflamed/bleeding gums. Do your research on more signs.
This is just some of the information from my research. Definitely read on it and talk to your vet about preventative and/or routine care.
Cousin Tony keeps calling...must be about that post the other day. LOL
