Soft Landing Stables is multidisciplinary but its mainstay is as a hunter-jumper C-show barn. We show, but we also like to enjoy our horses on our access to 5,000 acres of open space and in our large indoor and outdoor arenas.

Large stall coming available at beautiful small close-in 40-acre farm. Perfect for DC and Alexandria residents. 15 minutes from the Old Town side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and 19 minutes from Capitol Hill. Large, emerald green pastures,10 acres, 9 acres, 5 acres and 1.5 acres in size. Devoted care by full time farm manager who lives on site. Automatic waterers in each stall. Unlimited green, leafy orchard grass hay and Buckeye feed. Supplements provided by owners fed for free.

150 x 80 indoor with soft footing and 2 "Big Ass" fans for summer riding. 175 x 225 grass outdoor ring. All pastures lined with 3-board fence. Most have tree lines along fences.

Lessons available from H/J trainer who spent decades on the Florida AA circuit.
One mile trail on property (2 miles round trip).
If you'd like to part-lease your horse to defray board, leases are always in demand.

We were out at the farm yesterday and, among many other things spent time playing with Dunnie, our young hunter-pleasure guy. He's now fully part-leased to two great riders. Here's a shot of our fantabulous trainer Hannah, riding him. Look at that leg extension! He is a heart throb. And Hannah is a kind, knowledgeable, beloved trainer with a roster of about 20 students now. She has brought in a horse, Elinor (sp?) who is a winning show mare.
We are struck by the way Hannah's students talk about her. They adore her. How could you not? She's sweet, very friendly, knows the answer to every question about horses and showing, and very excited about all of her students.

We also have an incredible group at the farm. Everyone enjoys time spent there and is very appreciative. It's been years since we can say that. We are finally drama free and full of happy people. Love it!!

STALL IS TAKEN BUT WE STILL NEED A WORKER 2 SUNDAYS/MO.
Farm that is extremely close to downtown DC and Old Town, Alexandria. needs all care for 18 horses on farm 2 Sundays/mo. Care giver must live within 5 miles of Accokeek, Md.
Stable is on 40 acres with 25 acres in pasture. Back of the farm looks out over the Potomac. 15-20 minutes from Nat's Stadium, 10 minutes from National Harbor and 15 minutes (12 miles) to Old Town side of the WW Bridge.
The two work days pay $100/apiece.
Farm boasts 150 x 80 indoor arena and 225' x 175' outdoor grass arena, both pictured below. Our two largest pastures are 9 and 10 acres. Our farm manager loves and cares for each equine as if it were his own. Our trainer grew up showing and ribboning well at the Fla. AA circuit. Thank you farm manager Mr Juan for this pretty picture of now 9 month old El Jefe. After a brief stint at a Veterinary Clinic so his birth would go perfectly Jefe has spent his entire life with us including almost all his time in his mother's womb. She came here from the Arkansas kill pen. We rescued her because she was so beautiful. We didn't want to see her end up massacred by the horrible horse meat industry. So he was her thank you gift to us for saving her. He is the happiest baby you will ever meet because he has been given nothing but affection by Mr Juan and his son Mr Danny, and most of the boarders at Soft Landing. He's already about an in shorter than his 14'3" momma. We expect him to end up at 15'1" or 15'2". Hannah will train him up to be a sweet, safe lesson and show horse.

Soft Landing Stables is 19 miles due south of the US Capitol and yet it is a 40-acre A1 adult barn with large pastures/indoor & outdoor rings/5,000 acres of ride-out around the corner. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE ONE STALL AVAILABLE AND FIELD BOARD IS FULL.

SLS offers top quality horse boarding, horse leases and riding lessons at its capacious facilities and pastures (9 and 10 acre fields) to riders in DC, Southern Maryland and Alexandria/Falls Church/. Soft Landing is a laid back hunter-jumper and dressage rider-oriented barn with a friendly crowd of boarders and lessees. We can accommodate riders who want to show, but we also like to enjoy our horses.

SLS is an ideal location for discerning, professional, busy boarders who just want to spend relaxing private time with their horses and let them enjoy exceptional care close 19 miles due south of the US Capitol in Prince George’s County. No matter if you are starting a young horse, retraining an older horse, or most important, relaxing with an equine or human friend, SLS can take great care of your needs. We are across the street from a trail rider or eventer’s paradise: Piscataway National Park. The park is 5,000 acres of natural beauty along the Potomac River. The river is 300 feet back from the back of our 40-acre gem of a farm.

Soft Landing Stables is owned by journalist Bonnie Erbe’, who boarded at more than a half-dozen farms outside of Washington, but was never able to find superb turnout (9 and 10 acre emerald-green pastures) with a 150 x 80’ indoor WITH BIG ASS FANS THAT TURN HOT D.C. SUMMER DAYS RIDEABLE, a 225 x 175 outdoor ring, and standout horse care in one place, less than 12 miles from the DC border and 15 minutes from Old Town, Alexandria. It just doesn’t exist this close in. So she created it for herself, and built out a few 12 x 14 stalls for boarders with tall horses.
