🐾💜 NALA NEEDS OUR HELP! 💜🐾
Our sweet Nala has been through so much already, and unfortunately, she’s facing another uphill battle 💔
Nala came to us as an owner surrender after spending 6 years on prednisone to manage chronic allergies. Since coming into our care, we’ve been working to address her medical needs and give her the comfort and quality of life she deserves.
Unfortunately, we’ve now learned that her knees are in much worse condition than we’d hoped. Following her latest veterinary evaluation, we learned Nala has severely luxating patellas (kneecaps that slip out of place), with her right knee classified as grade 3, possibly grade 4. Her kneecap won’t stay where it belongs, and a small fracture is contributing to the instability. She also has significant arthritis in BOTH back legs 💔
Our veterinarian has recommended surgery on her right knee, potentially including ligament repair, followed by another surgery on her left knee. For now, she’s been prescribed anti-inflammatory medication to help manage her discomfort while we work toward getting her the care she needs.
And the estimated cost?
🚨 $2,473–$2,500 FOR HER RIGHT KNEE ALONE! 🚨
That’s before we even begin addressing her left knee.
🐾❤️ WE NEED YOUR HELP GETTING NALA BACK ON HER FEET! ❤️🐾
As a fully volunteer-operated, foster-based nonprofit rescue, veterinary expenses like these add up quickly. And with so many other dogs in our care needing food, supplies, and medical treatment, we simply can’t do it without the support of our community.
Nala deserves the chance to run, play, and enjoy life without painful, unstable knees. ❤️
