Meet Rosie on top and Rocky on bottom Our Two Featured Pets Of The Day!! Rosie is a 12 year old spayed Golden Retriever and Rocky is a 7 year old neutered Golden Retriever. These two were just in for their annual wellness exam yesterday. We are now offering bundled annual lab work that can help reduce the cost of some individual routine tests such as general bloodwork, parasite screening, tick disease screening, and heartworm disease testing. Please ask us for more information at your pet's annual well visit.

Meet Lux Our Featured Pet Of The Day!! Lux is a 4 month old neutered Abyssinian Kitten. Lux wanted to let everyone know that it is important to have your kitten vaccinated against feline Leukemia, even if they are planning on never socializing. Feline Leukemia is a very serious and common disease that is easily spread in friendly feline interactions including sharing water or food dishes. Kittens are most susceptible to contracting the disease. Once your cat has reach full maturity and if they are no longer socializing we general do not continue boostering the vaccine.

Meet Lucy Our Featured Pet Of The Day!! Lucy is a 6 year old spayed Yorkie mix. Hip Dysplasia (early onset arthritis of the hip joints) can not be confirmed until age 2 years however, it is good to have preliminary x-rays prior to 2 years of age to look for malformations of the hip joints. There are surgical procedures that can help with pain control if performed early enough.

Meet Phoebe Our Featured Pet Of The Day!! Phoebe is a 3 year old spayed Labrador Retriever. That starting a puppy on Heartworm prevention as early as 2 months of age can help not only protect them from developing adult heartworms which live in the blood stream and heart but also protect against some and sometimes all intestinal worms that a puppy commonly may come in contact with. Please talk with us about varies heartworm preventatives that we can offer your pets 2 months of age and older.

Dogs and cats that are treated with antibiotic therapy can benefit from taking a probiotic for dogs and cats. Meet Verity Our Featured Pet Of The Day!! Verity is an 8 month old female Boston Terrier. Verity wanted to help us talk about a condition called a dynamic collapsing trachea. Collapsing trachea is a common condition in small breed dogs of all ages. The condition is usually not going to affect the longevity of the patient unless it is severe or what we call a high grade. The condition causes a dry honking cough that is non-productive for most patients. The cough is caused by flexible cartilage in the trachea (tube that connects the throat and the bronchi), that bends and allows for inward movement of a muscular tissue that sets at the top lining of the trachea. This movement in tissue causes irritation of the trachea and in response causes the pet to cough. The condition is diagnosed via x-rays.

Meet Korra Our Featured Pet Of The Day!! Korra is a 13 year old spayed Boxer mix. She wanted to let everyone know that it is important to have your pet's urine checked by a veterinarian if you notice that they are showing symptoms of urinary incontinence (leaking urine accidentally or unconsciously) because it may be caused by infection or other urinary conditions. Do not restrict water before have the urine checked for a medical condition.

He wanted to let everyone to know that diarrhea in dogs is a common medical condition that can be caused by many different sources. If you socialize your pet often please consider having us check a stool sample for parasites at least every 6 months.
