1 female Bernese. Needs to be only dog in car.

Anyone traveling to Grand Haven or near that area on the west side of MI this weekend and have room for a Berner girl to ride back toward the East coast on Sunday?

The 6th Annual Fall Berner Meet up & fundraiser for Heart of Michigan will be in Grand Ledge again at Fitzgerald Park on Saturday Oct. 18th.

The Bearded Lady Pet Photographer will be there again.

ADOPTED!

PUPPY ADOPTION ALERT!

If you like hugs and going on adventures, Trixie might be the one the for you!

Trixie is an 8 month old female Bernedoodle who currently weighs 53lbs. She is an active gal who LOVES people. We think she may fit the bill to be a therapy dog. She adores everyone she meets.

At 8 months old she is still a puppy. She has puppy energy and is looking for an active family to keep her busy. If you are looking for an adventure dog, Trixie will be right by your side!

Since she is young she will need some training to learn manners. She is currently being crate trained. A physically fenced yard would be ideal but not required. She can be an only dog or hang out with a laid back, bigger dog.

Trixie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations. She is currently located in Kalamazoo and you must be able to travel there for a meet and greet and to pick her up.

If you feel as though you can give this sweet girl a home please fill out an application.

We are an all volunteer rescue so it may take us a few weeks to get back to you.

Can be flexible on transport leg locations after Youngstown, OH to Metro Detroit area.

Ohio and Pennsylvania friends we need you! We need help getting an adult male BMD to his new foster/forever home. He came to us after he was abandoned in an apartment when his owners moved out. The landlord contacted us to get him a safe place and find a new home.

Transport legs we need are:
🔹 Columbus, OH pickup between 8:30-9:30am to Cambridge, OH. — FILLED

🔹 Cambridge, OH to Washington, PA. — FILLED

🔹 Washington, PA to Somerset PA.

🔹Somerset, PA to Carlisle, PA.

We need homes ASAP that don't have another dog in them.

🧡 If you are looking for a great Berner dog, foster to adopt can be an option.
🤎 If you aren't ready to adopt a Berner but have room in your home for a couple weeks without another dog and can foster we need you.
🖤 We have dogs we want to help so they don't go to a shelter that need to be the only dog.

This handsome guy is Cassius. He is a 2.5 yr old Berner/Swissy mix.

His coat is on the shorter side like a Swiss Mtn Dog.

He's doing very well in his foster home but ready for his furever home. He isn't crated when they have left him alone and he's doing well not getting into mischief.

He enjoys having a dog friend to play with but will need proper introductions to another male dog in the home to make sure they get along as he can be selective.
He could also be fine as an only dog if you are home alot to be his BFF.

🔶 He enjoys zoomies in the fenced backyard and is doing well with indoor and outdoor cats. His recall is good but a fenced yard is required as he is still learning.

🔶 His favorite things - He loves to chew sticks. Loves toys. Will play alone happily, or with another dog. Has lots of play energy. Eager to please.

🔶 Loves to cuddle. If you love cuddles he is the perfect dog for you.

His foster describes his perfect family as:
He would thrive in a family where he gets a dog park and/or a walk everyday. He seems to thrive in structure, and has adjusted very smoothly to our household routine and rules. He needs family members that are confident in telling him his commands. I think whomever interacts with him the most from the get go, that's who will be his "person."

He has been nervous of newcomers to the home. He can be swayed with treats pretty easy, but it takes him a while to calm down. Could be part of everything he's gone through, but it does take him some time so you will need to be aware of this when you meet him and if you choose to adopt him. He's still settling.

He's met kids and done well with them but doesn't intact with them on a daily basis so teenagers would be best in the home with him.

Cassius is being fostered outside of Indianapolis, IN. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. You must travel to his foster home for a meet and greet and to pick him up.

We are an all volunteer rescue and do our best to get through applications in a timely manner. It may take up to 3 weeks to notify applicants.

I’m Lindsay Lyon, a volunteer and foster with Heart of Michigan Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue, and I’m excited to share that our annual golf outing—started by my amazing in-laws—is donating ALL proceeds to support this incredible rescue!🐶

⛳️ A little background: Since 2019, this outing has raised over $17,000 for causes like cancer research, autism awareness, medical support for families, and programs for children with special needs. Each year has had a personal mission, and this year it’s extra close to our hearts—my in-laws adopted their sweet Bernese, Lyla, from the rescue last year and she’s become the perfect addition to our family. 🐾
