We left the dressage court for a hunter show this weekend! Sewickley Hunt show was a lot of fun and everyone was so nice. First show for these two boys since SHN last September so we knew it would be more a learning experience more than a winning one. We did get some nice ribbons in nice company including a reserve championship for Eastwood. Brielle and Zeke learned a LOT and I believe fixed an issue that has been a problem.
Next eeek it is dressage again- rated show this time! And Liam’s turn for hunters. Then we gear up a big crew for the Arabian games! I am excited to be taking some newbies there!

I imagine at this point pretty much everyone around the east is tired of the rain but I understand drier days this week coming.
Despite the weather we have had some great rides both hunters and dressage! Excited to get into a show schedule and particularly excited for a coule of my younger riders making a show ring debut!

What a lovely day today! Summer like shoukd have all of outside doing something!
Took Cindy and Summir to a dressage show run by the Keystone Dressage group. I actually did see several people I know - hunter person in dressage land! A nice show at a nice facility(Harmony Horsemanship near Altoona) my team went so very well and we were pleased! Judge gave helpful critiques at the end of each ride which are always helpful!
Another bit of exciting news is Jocelyn is leasing Tammy’s sweet boy, Remmy for the summer! They will have fun together headed towards some dressage and sport horse!
Looking forward to a couple of hunter shows in the next couple of weeks! Yay!

Mixed reviews for this week. The sad part is having Bailey and his girls move to be closer to Taylor’s new house. We will miss his antics but look forward to him returning for lessons!
On the high notes: you all know my main world is over fences stuff but I do read a lot and pay attention to other trainers and what they do which is improving my dressage world! Well, my two dressage riders have put stuff together and oh my goodness how well their horses are going! So proud of them!
Then there are my hunters and oh wow! They were all amazing doing their schooling rides and so impressive! Can’t wait to get to a show!
My young novice riders are also stepping up and developing their skills! Fun to have such dedicated young people!
Love it here at Stone Hollow and we have room if anyone would like to join us!

Our riders work so hard to improve their riding and their horses and sometimes it seems like forever before a concept is understood and achieved. Well, by golly, of late we have had major break thrus with everyone and that is so exciting! Well done troops!
We do have a couple of openings for boarding and haul in lessons. Contact me soon!

Wow, busy busy busy! Enjoying the warmer weather and getting things done!
The Blue Ridge show was a great success for us! We just took 4 and despite the fact we hadn’t ridden outside or jumped lines and it was pretty chilly they all performed beautifully ! They were pretty smart hanging onto most of their winter coats!

Still riding a weather change! From
80 something to 40s and still going down. We did get a chance to jump some lines and wash some of the winter yuck off sweaty horses. Still have quite a bit of coat so won’t be real slick for our first show!
Happy Easter everyone!!

Beautiful Sunday! Despite the chill all the horses went great yesterday and we actually jumped jumps! Nice to see all the hard work on the flat and gymnastics has paid off when we got to it! Excited that Bailey finally has his changes!
Our first show is only a couple of weeks away so time to gather up all the stuff that was put away in the fall and yes, I do know where the box with the curtains is! Phew!
We do have a couple of stalls available for the first time in quite a while! Excellent care, quiet adult centered atmosphere , indoor and outdoor rings easy access to 219 highway!

Interesting day at SH yesterday. Olivia Watson and her crew from the Penn State equine extension service gave a first aid work shop with was very informative. Everyone attending got a first aid kit and lots of informative hand outs. Liam, Zeke, Eastwood, Charm, and Vegaz proved once again how wonderful Arabians are as they patiently accepted having pulses felt, heart and gut sounds listened to by stethoscope by the attendees. In fact Liam pretty much fell asleep making it more difficult to find his pulse! He was a gentleman when tape measures were draped on him to for the body condition demo. Seems like he is close to 17 hands and a decent 1300 pounds! Caitlyn , Brielle, Jocelyn, and Stacey plus me were horse holders and our vet, Dr Mauer gave an informative talk on what actually is an emergency or not and some suggestions on what to do while you wait for the vet. Some plastic legs were used for learning bandaging techniques and the different kinds of wraps. We thank PS for an informative afternoon!
