Before even getting into everything I would love to thank Shayne, Kelly Mowry, Matthew Gyorko, Tammy Cramer and Precious for everything they've done to alleviate this situation.
Dog Gone Grooming of Johnstown is going to be closed for a few days, due to a flood in my shop. This is a very hard post for me.
Yesterday, Kelly and I showed up at work, and while Kelly was unloading the car, I went in to open the door. When I opened the door my heart dropped, and I was devastated. I lost about everything that I worked so hard to build.
The flood itself was horrible with water running out of the ceiling. My equipment, scissors, and my livelihood was drenched in water and ceiling tile and debris covered the floor. My files, records, and tools destroyed. It was very hard to see, but the hardest part was finding out it was done deliberately.
A person upstairs went into a vacant apartment, took the pipe off the sink, turned the hot water on and put it on full blast because he was upset with the landlord. Little did he know he was caught on video because the landlord had video cameras installed, thank goodness.
My grandson, Shayne, and his aunt Kelly went to do some P.I. work. They went to the landlord's to watch the videos, to see what they could see, and Shayne spotted it right away and said, "There he is, and he went in at eight thirty." So, I'd like the guy upstairs to know a 10-year-old is the one that found out it was him.
I spent a good part of the day crying and feeling broken. Then I put my faith in God, and put a Band-Aid on my feelings. I'm moving on. I'm going to do my best to try and fix up a room to be able to groom dogs by Wednesday. With God's help, I can do it. I'm not sure what my insurance will cover, but i've lost a lot of very expensive equipment.
I built this company with very little money, and I made it a beautiful business. I will build it back one way or another. I just ask that everybody would please pray for me. I'm determined, and I will not give up easily.
I want the guy who did this to know that I forgive him. I only hope he finds God in his life and asks for his forgiveness. Please, if you feel like doing something mean and destructive, say a prayer instead - it really does help.
I want to thank all of my beautiful clients and their babies. I will be back in business this week I promise. Without each and every one of you, I would not be where I am at today, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
