Senior pets may slow down a bit, but they still rely on us to help them feel their best. Here are a few ways to support your aging companion:

• Schedule regular vet visits – Senior pets benefit from more frequent checkups.

• Provide soft, supportive bedding – Helps ease pressure on aging joints.

• Watch for subtle changes – Appetite, mobility, and behavior shifts can signal health issues.

• Keep them active – Gentle walks and playtime help maintain mobility and mental health.

A little extra care can go a long way in helping your pet enjoy their golden years. 🐾

An interesting piece from WSB TV by Sophia Choi was published this week, discussing the growing role of corporate and private equity ownership in veterinary medicine and why many pet owners may not realize who owns their clinic. Several families, who have been long-time supporters of CVAH, have shared this article with us this past week.

We have this same discussion almost every day with families who come to our hospital as a first visit. The reality is that our neighborhood comprises 9 out of 10 clinics being private-equity-owned vet clinics. Many new families come to us wondering and genuinely questioning: “What has happened or changed to my long-time, trusted local vet clinic? It seems so very different now…”

At Camden Village Animal Hospital, we believe transparency matters. Pet owners deserve to understand who is making decisions inside the hospitals caring for their animals. Our hospital is owned, medically directed, and dutifully managed by Dr. Andras Tigyi, DVM. Full Stop.

Credit to a local news source, Sophia Choi at WSB TV, for covering an important and evolving topic within veterinary medicine.

Pets can’t tell us when something feels wrong, but their behavior often gives us clues.

If you notice changes like loss of appetite, unusual lethargy, vomiting or diarrhea, increased thirst or urination, or sudden behavior changes, it may be time to schedule a visit with your veterinarian.

Early care can make a big difference in your pet’s health.

Dear Families!

Our team at Camden Village Animal Hospital wanted to share our upcoming holiday hours with you.

Memorial Day Hours:

We will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th.

We will be reopening for normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

Holiday Tips: While we all know people food can often be harmful for our pets; it is especially important to remember this around the holidays. Avoid sharing any sweets or leftovers with your furry best friend. By keeping these potentially toxic foods out of your pet’s reach, you will not only ensure the safety of your pet, but it will help keep the extra pounds off your pet during the holidays.

If your pet needs immediate care, please contact the emergency care center:
