Despite both Sally and Anya having a good grip on him, Ashoka is more than ready to leave! He came in for boosters but all of our clients get TPR’d first.
What Each Letter Means:
T – Temperature: Measures the animal's internal body heat, usually using a digital thermometer.
P – Pulse: Measures the heart rate and the strength of blood flow, often checked by listening with a stethoscope or feeling an artery in the inner thigh.
R – Respiration: Counts how many breaths the animal takes in one minute by watching the chest move or listening to the lungs.
Why It Is Used
Baseline Health: Gives a quick snapshot of an animal's general condition during routine visits or emergencies.
Monitoring Recovery: Helps veterinary staff track progress for hospitalized or sedated patients.
Detecting Illness: Spots early signs of pain, stress, fever, or infection when numbers fall outside normal ranges.
