Sometimes, when we think about our little FIP fighters, we think about how different this story would have been just a few years ago.
For a long time, FIP was a death sentence.
Veterinarians could provide supportive care, but there wasn't a treatment that could actually stop the disease.
Then came years of research, clinical trials, and lots of people who refused to give up on finding an answer.
Their efforts led to antiviral treatments like GS-441524, and suddenly, something that had once been unthinkable was possible.
Cats could recover from FIP. 💜
There's still more to learn. Research is still being done on FIP, treatment, resistance, diagnostics, and how to make treatment more affordable and accessible.
But our seven kittens are still here today because of the progress that has already been made. They get a chance because so many people refused to give up.
And now, it's our turn to not give up on them. 💜🐾
Because treatment is possible, we're fighting to make sure these seven kittens get access to it.
Our goal is $21,000 to cover the cost of treatment for all seven FIP fighters.
