As we move through 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the heartwarming stories that made 2024 a year to remember.

⁠On December 12, we held a Feral Cat Day, where 77 cats were brought in for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return.) Each one was spayed/neutered, ear tipped and vaccinated.

However, there were two sibling kittens, too young for surgery. Dr. Ferrell saw their potential and decided to foster them, with hopes of finding them a forever home.

Her efforts paid off, and on Christmas Eve, these sweet kittens became a delightful surprise for an excited little girl.

Now, they’re happily settled into their new home, enjoying life as cherished members of a loving family.

⭐️Alabama Spay Neuter is supplementing the cost of spay neuter surgery on pets from qualified households.

These households can spay/neuter up to 3 pets at Alabama Spay Neuter for a copay of just $25 per pet!

Additional services (vaccinations, dewormer, microchipping, etc.) are sold separately.

⭐️Eligibility:
A family member of the household must verify current enrollment in one or more government assistance programs (e.g., Medicaid, Disability, WIC, SNAP, EBT, SSI)

⭐️Copay:
$25 per pet, due when making the appointment.

Our primary transport truck recently experienced significant engine issues, requiring major repairs.

Thankfully, the necessary work has been completed, and the truck is now running smoothly once again, efficiently transporting dogs and cats to and from our transport sites.

The total cost for these repairs amounted to just over $4,100.

It’s thanks to your generous donations, especially in times like these, that we’re able to continue our mission of saving the lives of innocent animals.

⭐️Your pet will be under anesthesia for the procedure + your pet is given an injectable pain medication that manages the discomfort resulting from surgery.

⭐️Recovery from the surgery is surprisingly quick. In fact, most dogs and cats are back to normal within 24-48 hours.

⭐️Many of our customers elect to purchase a 3 day supply of pain medication, which is available for an additional $10

❓ Will my pet’s behavior change after surgery?

👉 Spaying or neutering is unlikely to change temperament, basic personality, levels of playfulness and general activity.

🐾 However, it can have a positive effect. Some behavioral issues, especially, sexual behaviors such as mounting, howling and the urge to roam-are reduced following surgery.

🐾Male dogs and cats will be less likely to fight. Female dogs and cats will no longer go into heat.
