These two besties will be on their way next week. They look like they’ve known each other forever but they bonded while in boarding with Jim (transporter).

One is named “juicy” (hahaha, may need to change that) and she’s under one year, cattle dog mix. Can you believe she was in danger?

Teddy is the longer coated boy who was struggling at the shelter and was in danger. As you can see, he’s doing much better now.

Been battling the heat this week. Cant decide which is worse, running them when the wind chill is -10 or when the heat index is 100F.

Playing catch-up this week after the fundraiser. Time to focus on adoptions now as the year is ending.

Have 5 dogs arriving early next week from California. Every single dog was nearing or past their deadline to be killed for space. They are all healthy and most under two years of age.

I don’t use the word euthanasia. They aren’t mercifully killed because of health or concerning behavior, they are killed because of, as little space as, 24 square feet.

Saint (my boy) was groomed today at The Fur Foundry.

Let me share some facts about the long-coated shepherds: They don’t shed like the flat coats but their hair can tangle very easily. The hair behind their ears and the base of their tail
Seems to be the first spots dreads develop.

Long-coats are my favorite. When they run, their hair glistens in the sun and their hair rides the wind so beautifully.

Rory did a great job wrangling Saint several times after he tried to exit the place mid-shave. He had to cut away from his tail but, it’s just hair, it’ll grow back.

Don’t let the long hair scare you, their beauty is immense!

Everyone,
Please wish Rory from The Fur Foundry the best of luck tomorrow clipping Ethel's nails. May the force be with him.

Ethel is part of a bonded pair that have been with me for many years. She is inseparable from her best friend, GSD, Fred.

If he can clip her nails, then he has won all the grooming business he can handle from the rescue.

I rescued them from Indianapolis Animal Care Services because I was worried that they wouldn't find the best home or would be separated. They were found together as strays. They're living out their remaining years on the farm.

When he spoke of how he cares about each dog’s experience upon entering his place, he has thought of every element possible.

His goal is to make your dog as comfortable as possible and to make sure they feel right at home. From the sofa to the console TV, they are not quickly placed in a crate or kennel upon arrival, they are allowed to meet new friends and relax before receiving their grooming.

Plus, any person who gets choked up speaking about their heart dog, they always win my respect and admiration.
