The mission of Southside Animal Shelter is to rescue healthy and treatable dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia, nurture and restore them to happy healthy lives in loving homes, and reserve euthanasia for those animals, in a veterinarian's professional opinion, who are in a state of terminal suffering or have been determined aggressive. The Southside Animal Shelter is a 501(c)3 private, independent

Our staff is there daily from 1-4pm (closed Sundays) to facilitate adoptions, but applications can be submitted any time during PetSmart normal business hours.

These cuties are on their way to the Greenwood Petsmart location (7801 US 31 S) where they’ll be available for adoption.

Somehow, Stevie is still available! 💗💗

Stevie has become quite the cuddle bug over these last few weeks. It can be hard to get her attention at times because when she’s focused on playing or napping, she takes it very seriously. She is the perfect mix of fun and chill. When it’s time to play, it’s time to play. When it’s time to relax? It’s time to relax.

Stevie is 1 year old, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She does well with cats of all ages, but seems to gravitate towards kittens and other active playmates.

🌷Ashley received no applications. She has a lot stacked against her. She is a Pitbull mix and she is black. These are the dogs most likely to be euthanized and not find a home. 🌷

🪻BUT Ashley has a LOT going for her! She is such a friendly girl, does great with other dogs, loves to play but is respectful when other dogs are not in the mood. She is also in a foster home with cats and she is great with them. Ashley has met so many strangers, men and children, and has been happy and social with all. 🪻

💕Ashley is a smaller girl, we expect her to be around 40 lbs full grown. She has been around small and large dogs. 💕

🌸This sweet girl was at another shelter where she had been waiting for a home far too long. She is 6 months old and has spent too much of her life in a shelter. We know our amazing supporters will be able to help find this awesome pup her forever home! So please share, and if you are thinking of adding a pup to your home, please consider Ashley. 🌸

🆘WE NEED SOME HELP!🆘

We are in desperate need of bleach & paper towels!

Both of these items are used in abundance for daily cleaning.

We use around 25 gallons of bleach per week between laundry and general cleaning.

If you are out and about and are able to help we are here until 4 today!

These items are also on our wishlist but any brand/size is good!

Stevie is a playful and peaceful 1 year old. She loves playtime and getting affection from people, but she’s also very laid-back when it’s time to relax. She does well with other cats too, and is very respectful of their boundaries. She doesn’t take it to heart if she gets swatted away by a disinterested cat and will simply move along to find someone else to greet.

Stevie is spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and ready to get a new home out of the shelter.
