Pet Friendly Services is Indiana's statewide animal welfare organization whose mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs through financial assistance, education, and advocacy. Pet Friendly Services of Indiana was formerly known as Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI), which began serving limited-income pet lovers in central Indiana in 1977. Pet Friendly Services provides

free and discounted spay/neuter surgeries to animal rescues and people in need thanks to revenues received from the Pet Friendly license plate, grants, donations, fundraisers, and bequests. We partner with a network of compassionate and caring veterinarians who perform surgeries at reduced rates so that we can move Indiana to zero kill. Mission
Pet Friendly Services is a statewide animal welfare organization whose mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs through financial assistance, education, and advocacy. Vision
The vision of Pet Friendly Services is to help every Indiana animal shelter reach and maintain zero-kill status through financial assistance and education, as well as advocate on State and local levels for effective and humane animal welfare legislation while serving as a successful model for other states throughout the country. What We Do
Pet Friendly Services runs 3 targeted programs, proven to reduce shelter intake and unnecessary euthanasia. With fewer animals, shelters are able to better care for the animals already in the shelter, increase adoption rates, and increase morale among staff members. We also host the annual Indiana Animal Welfare Conference, bringing our state’s shelters and rescue groups together for a day of learning and networking so we can continue to increase the number of lives we save.

“Kitten season” sounds cute.
But behind every litter is a mother cat trying to survive while raising babies outdoors, often without food, shelter, or veterinary care.

Words shape how we think about animal overpopulation, and how urgently we act to solve it.

Spay/neuter changes the story for mom cats, kittens, shelters, and communities across Indiana. 💜🐾

What if adoptable pets had LinkedIn profiles? 💼🐾

Shelter pets may not have polished résumés, but they do have big personalities, loyal hearts, and a lot of love to give. ❤️

Spay/neuter remains the most humane, effective, and cost-efficient way to reduce shelter overcrowding and prevent suffering before it starts.

Bonus - these are REAL adoptable pets! Here's where to find them:

Rusty - Fulton County Animal Center, Indiana
Max Black - Biscuit Factory Animal Rescue
Bandit - The Animal Protection League Inc., Indiana
Evie - Humane Society Boone County

Pet Friendly Services of Indiana is building a new statewide Mentorship Network Directory to help strengthen Indiana’s veterinary and animal welfare community through practical, experience-based guidance. We are currently seeking experienced professionals (particularly HQHVSN veterinarians, shelter medicine veterinarians, and shelter/rescue leaders) who are willing to share their knowledge with peers across the state.

Mentors can define their own availability and areas of support, whether that’s surgical efficiency, shelter protocols, clinic workflow, outbreak management, leadership development, or program growth. The goal is simple: make real-world expertise more accessible so more organizations can improve efficiency, expand access to care, and ultimately help more pets.
