Maggie Lu's Safe Haven Rescue We rescue lost, mistreated, neglected and abused dogs, provide veterinary care and place in foster homes until a permanent home can be found.

Founded by dog-lover Christa Nigito, Maggie Lu's SHR works with volunteers, to rescue, transport, get veterinary care and find homes for abandoned, abused, and dogs surrendered to high kill shelters. We are a foster based non-profit 501C3 all breed dog rescue located in Charlotte NC. Most of our dogs are pulled from high-kill rural shelters located throughout the Carolinas. ys in need of donations, to help with the care and medical costs that is associated with saving them. All of our dogs are fully vetted, neutered/spayed and in

Happy Gotcha Day Apollo!!!

After being abandoned at a vet’s office for over 3 years in boarding, Apollo found his furever family!!
We took this sweet boy into our rescue knowing it would be tough finding him a home. But that’s who we are. Rescue means taking on the ones who need us the most.
After lots of posts on many social media platforms, we hit the jackpot! Ironically Apollo’s mom works at the casino. In conversation with a friend, she knew someone in the area who did the homecheck, and the rest is history.
Apollo’s mom drove 3 1/2 hours one way to pick him up. He is now living his best life and the king of the castle!!😊

Happy Gotcha Day Maya aka Rosie!!
This sweet girl was found abandoned a few years ago. We took her into our rescue when a wonderful family stepped up to foster her. After several attempts to get her adopted, she finally landed with a single woman who loved her very much. But after 2 years the dynamics changed and her owner was travelling all the time for work. We always tell our adopters if they can’t keep the dog we will take them back.
After posting Maya for a new home, she found her perfect family who travelled over 3 hours to pick get her. She is now the princess with human siblings, and wonderful doggie parents. She has a huge fenced in yard to do zummies and play fetch.
We are so... happy for you sweet Maya!!

🚨 EMERGENCY ‼️ URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED ‼️: Anson County Needs Us 🚨

Every single dog at the Anson County shelter is now at risk of euthanasia. Not because they’re unwanted. Not because they’re unloved. But because there simply aren’t enough people to care for them. 💔

Low staffing = lives on the line.
These are good dogs. Loving, loyal, and deserving of so much more than a ticking clock.

We need fosters urgently. Even opening your home for a few weeks can save a life. We cannot pull any dog until we have a foster lined up.

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED (or) ADOPTER! 🚨 Meet Clyde a 24 lb Schnauzer mix — the newest pup joining Maggie Lu’s Safe Haven Rescue 💙

Clyde was found running down a busy street with another little dog. Thank goodness a good samaritan stopped and took them in, or they would have been hit by a car because they are small dogs. He is currently with the person that found him. But she is not able to keep both dogs. So he will be joining our rescue.
🐾Clyde is good with other dogs and kids over 6 yrs old.
🐾 He is crate trained
🐾Likes to walk on a leash
🐾He needs a foster home ASAP

His neuter is scheduled in August, and we’d love for him to rest and recover in a cozy, safe home.
