Do you love dogs? Is your dream job working with dogs? Want to learn to work with them under the wing of one of the area's most respected dog trainers? We may have the opportunity you have been looking for. Previous dog experience is not required, but honesty, reliability, strong work ethic, professionalism, and a desire to learn are.

Employee will assist in a variety tasks involving the care of our in-house dogs, and, if the optimum level of commitment and dog instincts are exhibited, learn to train using our methodology and philosophy of training dogs. This position will enhance the knowledge and unique skills it takes to care for and train dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.

Key Responsibilities:
Exercising, walking, brushing and bathing dogs.
Feeding dogs.
Cleaning kennels, cages and play areas.
General yard work, mowing and other maintenance.
Occasionally assisting with dog training and attending lessons in order to gain training knowledge and skills.
Socializing puppies and eventually taking dogs/puppies out in public for socialization and training exercises.
Learning how to effectively and professionally communicate with clients.
Learning about topics such as nutrition, health, aggression, drive, triggers, behavioral modification and much more.
Monitoring dogs and reporting any questionable health, behavior or safety concerns immediately.

If/when the necessary levels of skill, dedication and "dog sense" are observed, you may be given the opportunity to advance to a lucrative training position where, in addition to training/helping dogs with obedience and behavioral problems, you may also have the opportunity to help train Police K9s, Home Protection and/or Detection Dogs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must report to work on time.
Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance.
Must have sound communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team, but also work efficiently and effectively while independent.
Must be able to follow verbal instruction precisely.
Must be able to frequently walk, run, kneel, crouch, lift up to 50 pounds and meet other physical demands.
Must be willing and able to work outside in unfavorable weather conditions.
Ability to make good decisions quickly.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
RELIABLE CAR OR TRUCK
NON-SMOKER/DIPPER
DRUG FREE (ability to pass drug screening if requested)
MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE
SALARY IS FLEXIBLE DEPENDING ON TERMS AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
