🦜☀️ Meet Jaybird, our little Bed N Biscuit greeter! 💚

Jaybird came to stay with us at Flint River Animal Hospital for a few days while her family enjoyed a vacation, and she made herself right at home! 🥰 She got to hang out in our Bed N Biscuit lobby, greeting everyone who walked through the door. Talk about a VIP (Very Important Parrot)! 🐦✨

While she was boarding with us, Dr. Lowe was also able to give Jaybird a much-needed beak trim! 🩺🦜 Regular beak trims are important for birds whose beaks don’t wear down naturally, helping prevent overgrowth that can interfere with eating, grooming, and everyday activities.

We loved having this feathered friend visit and help welcome our guests! ❤️ Jaybird, you’re welcome back anytime! 🐾💚

UPDATE: We have found her owner! She slipped through a small spot in the fence when the pet sitter came to take care of her. Her puppies are doing good and had already started weaning! They will be reunited once the owners are back in town tomorrow!

This sweet girl was found yesterday in Mt. Carmel near Mykey's & Granger. No tag or chip. She's recently had puppies and I'm sure that they are missing her. She is safe and being cared for, but she is ready to go home. Please call us at 256-852-3300 if you know how to contact the owner.

🐾💗 Welcome to the FRAH family, Reesie! 💗🐾

This sweet little girl came in for her very first kitten visit, and we are already completely smitten! 😻🐱

Kitten visits are an important first step in starting your new family member off on the right paw. These visits allow us to check their growth and development, begin their vaccination schedule, discuss parasite prevention, nutrition, and answer all those new-kitten questions! 🩺✨

Welcome to Flint River Animal Hospital, Reesie! We can’t wait to watch you grow! 💕🐾

🐾💙 Well, hello there, Eddie! 💙🐾

This ridiculously cute little Frenchie came in for his FIRST wellness visit and, after charming the entire FRAH team, decided to make it Facebook official… Flint River Animal Hospital is his Vet of choice! 🥰🐶

Eddie is already practicing his best Frenchie face, and we have a feeling he’s going to be a regular around here! 😍

Puppy wellness visits are an important part of starting off on the right paw! 🐾 They help us monitor growth and development, keep vaccines on track, discuss nutrition and parasite prevention, and make sure your new puppy is growing into a happy, healthy family member.

Welcome to the FRAH family, Eddie! We can’t wait to watch you grow… and, of course, spoil you along the way! 💙🐾

🐾💚 Why Are Wellness Exams So Important? 💚🐾

Your pet may look healthy, act healthy, and still have something going on beneath the surface. That’s why yearly wellness exams are one of the most important things you can do for your pet’s health!

During a wellness exam, our veterinary team gets the opportunity to:
🩺 Check your pet from nose to tail
❤️ Listen to their heart and lungs
🦷 Evaluate their teeth and gums
⚖️ Monitor weight and body condition
👀 Look for early signs of illness or changes that may be easy to miss at home
💉 Keep vaccinations and preventive care up to date
🧪 Recommend appropriate screenings based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and individual needs

Pets are experts at hiding illness, and catching a problem early can often mean more treatment options, better outcomes, and a healthier, happier life for your furry family member. ❤️

At Flint River Animal Hospital, our goal isn't just to treat your pet when they're sick—we want to help keep them healthy throughout every stage of their life. 🐾

📅 Don't wait until something is wrong! Make your pet's yearly wellness exam part of their routine healthcare.

📞 Call us at 256-852-3300 or go online to schedule your pet's wellness exam!

Healthy pets. Happy families. Happier years together. 💚🐾

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost and the families forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We remember the brave first responders, firefighters, police officers, military members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable circumstances.

We honor those who ran toward danger to help others, those who gave their lives, and those who continue to carry the memories of that day.

❤️ We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

From all of us at Flint River Animal Hospital, we take a moment today to remember and honor September 11, 2001.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Meet Ozzy - here to remind everyone to help keep their pups safe and cool during this continued hot weather.

Hot temperatures can be dangerous for dogs, especially during walks, playtime, or time spent outside. Make sure your pet has plenty of fresh water, access to shade or air conditioning, and avoid outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day. Remember, pavement can get much hotter than the air temperature and can burn sensitive paw pads in seconds.

If your dog seems excessively tired, is panting heavily, drooling more than usual, or having trouble cooling down, move them to a cool place and contact your veterinarian right away.

Stay safe, stay cool, and hopefully Ozzy will get some extra belly rubs for helping to spread the word.
