🎃 Is 13 a lucky number… or an unlucky one?

This Halloween, 13 dogs have something wonderful to celebrate: rescue partners have said YES to giving them a chance at a forever home! 🧡

But there’s one frightening catch… we don’t have foster homes for them yet. 😔

Before these dogs can leave the shelter and head north to their new beginnings, they need a safe place to land. A few quiet days away from the noise and stress of the shelter can make all the difference. A chance to rest, decompress, and receive the care they need before transport.

We have people ready to help save them. Now we need people willing to open their homes. 🏡

Some of these pups may only need a foster for a week, and we provide the supplies. You provide a little space, care, and the comfort of knowing they’re safe.

We would hate for a dog to lose their chance at a forever home simply because we couldn’t find them a place to stay.

Can you help turn 13 into a lucky number? 👻

“Oh, the places you’ll go! Kid, you’ll move mountains!”

Remember Lynard? 🐶 Our big guy arrived skin and bones, battling a skin infection and hair loss. With time, care, and a little patience, he’s gained over 20 pounds, his beautiful coat is growing back, and he’s ready for his next chapter!

We recently shared his progress, and now we have the update we’ve been dreaming of: Lynard is ADOPTED! 🎉

A family in Massachusetts saw what we saw in this big, handsome boy. After a long journey north, Lynard stepped off transport and straight into the excited arms of his new dad and brother. It was love at first sight! 🥹

This is why we do what we do. Every dog deserves the chance to heal, feel safe, and find a family who loves them unconditionally. It takes time, resources, and people who believe in them. And we couldn’t make these happy endings happen without your support. ❤️

But wait… what about his DNA results? 👀 We wouldn’t leave you hanging! Let’s just say this boy has some BIG breeds in his family tree. Swipe to see his results and tell us! Did you guess correctly? 🧬

🚨 Ever wake up hoping to face not one, but TWO medical emergencies? Yeah… neither did we.

Wednesday started with Possum, our brave little mange pup, suddenly running to his foster mom in pain. His eye had bulged out of its socket. His incredible foster mom rushed him to the vet, where they were able to reposition his eye. We don’t yet know if his vision will return or if he’ll need further surgery, but her quick action gave him his best chance.

Meanwhile, Lamello’s routine spay became a fight for her life. She had an undetected, non-viable pregnancy and pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. The procedure that nearly took her life also saved it. We’re grateful she made it through and that we could get her the care she desperately needed. ❤️‍🩹

At Luna Farms Rescue, when we take a dog in, we commit to fighting for them. Even when the unexpected happens, but emergency veterinary care comes at a cost. There will always be another dog who needs us.

Will you help us be ready for the next life we can save? Every donation, no matter the size, helps cover Possum and Lamello’s medical care and gives us a little more room to say “yes” when another dog needs urgent help.

These two have already fought so hard. Help us be there for them. 🐶

30 dogs last week. 18 more preparing to leave this week. And we’re already wishing we could save more. 🚐🐾

There’s a bittersweet side to rescue. Every dog we send north means another life gets a chance at a loving family. But behind every transport are countless vet visits, medical records, paperwork, coordination and miles on the road to make that second chance possible.

This week’s lighter load gives us a moment to catch our breath, but our hearts always wonder about the dogs still waiting. Because whether it’s 1 dog or 30, every life matters, and we’ll do everything we can to help them find their way home. ❤️

To our incredible rescue partners who make these journeys possible, thank you for never giving up on the ones who need us most.

Here’s a look at last week’s lucky 30 as we get ready to send 18 more toward their forever families! 🏡🐶 Help us keep the journey going by sharing their stories and supporting rescue.

Rescue is about more than saving animals. It’s about the hearts we inspire along the way 🐶

Fostering takes a village, and it touches everyone in a home, including the little hearts learning what it means to care for an animal in need. 🥹

Recently, Brekyn, a sixth grader and daughter of one of our amazing foster families, chose Luna Farms Rescue and fostering for her PTA Reflections art project, inspired by the theme “What Is My Culture?”

Watching a young person recognize rescue as something meaningful enough to represent who she is reminds us why this work matters so much. Every foster home offers a dog a safe place to land, but it can also nurture the next generation of compassionate animal advocates. ❤️

Brekyn, we are so proud of you and grateful for the love you show every animal in your family’s care. We’re rooting for you in your project but in our eyes, you’re already a winner! 🏆

Meet Highway! One handsome Alabama Brown Dog ready for his forever destination! 🚗🐾

At just 1 year old, Highway was found skinny, scared and stranded beside a busy highway. He needed someone to stop, care and give him a chance. Today, he’s a healthy 58-pound goofball with long legs, a big heart, and plenty of kisses to share. 🥹

He loves meeting people, making dog friends, playing fetch and snuggling up with his favorite humans. The only thing he hasn’t mastered? Coordinating those baby-giraffe legs! 😂

Getting Highway to safety was just the first mile of his journey. Rescue takes a village, and finding loving homes is what makes room for the next dog who needs help. ❤️

Highway is ready to leave his roadside days in the rearview mirror. Will you help him reach his final destination? Adopt, share his story, or help us spread the word! 🏡

Theo deserves a chance. And we’re determined to give him one. ❤️

At just three years old, Theo should be chasing tennis balls and curled up beside his favorite person. Instead, this sweet Golden Retriever mix was found wandering the streets, underweight, filthy, and struggling with a condition we later learned was caused by an old car accident.

Today, Theo is safe with Luna Farms Rescue. We’re helping him heal, exploring ways to manage his incontinence, and working to give him the comfortable, happy life he deserves. His journey won’t be simple, and his care will require extra time, patience, and ongoing support. But when we look at Theo, we don’t see a burden. We see a dog worth fighting for. 🐶

This is what rescue looks like: showing up for the dogs who need a little more, finding solutions when the answers aren’t easy, and believing every life is worth the effort.

We can’t do it alone. Every donation, share, foster, and adoption application helps us continue showing up for dogs like Theo. And somewhere out there, we hope there’s a family ready to love this special boy exactly as he is.

📖 Want to be part of Theo’s next chapter? Consider donating toward his care, sharing his story, or applying to adopt him through Luna Farms Rescue. Together, we can help him find the future he deserves.

When Lynard first came to Luna Farms Rescue, we thought we were helping a senior dog. But with medical care, patience, and love, he’s practically aging in reverse! 🐾

Our vet now believes Lynard is only 2–3 years old. He’s gained 20 pounds, his skin is healing, and his beautiful coat is growing back. At around 80 pounds, this well-mannered, house-trained sweetheart is good with people and other dogs. Now fully vetted, he’s ready for a forever home where he can continue to thrive! 🐶

Behind transformations like Lynard’s are real resources, time, and hands-on care. Our founder, Stephanie, is currently fostering Lynard and two other dogs with significant medical needs. We’re grateful to give them the care they deserve, but until they find homes, our ability to help other dogs is limited.

YOU CAN HELP CHANGE THAT. 🏡

🐾 Adopt Lynard and give him the future he deserves.
❤️ Foster or volunteer to help us open space for another dog.
🚐 Transport or donate to keep lifesaving care moving.
📲 Share this post to help Lynard find his family!

Every share, donation, and helping hand makes room for another dog in need. Help us turn Lynard’s second chance into the beginning of another.
