Cookie & Chevy — A Bittersweet Goodbye, and the Most Beautiful New Beginning
Yesterday, our beloved Cookie and Chevy climbed onto the transport and headed toward the home that will finally be theirs — together. Cookie was with us for three years, Chevy for two. Letting them go was bittersweet… not because we weren’t overjoyed for them, but because selfishly, we will miss them more than words can hold. They were two of the best dogs to ever pass through our rescue, yet no one locally ever stepped forward to give them a chance.
And then — kindness found its way back to us.
The family adopting them is the same family that once took in a bonded pair of abandoned seniors that a neighbor begged us to help. No one wanted those seniors either… except this family. They loved them fiercely through their final years, right up to their last breath.
Now, they have come back for Cookie and Chevy — two of our longest residents, two souls who waited so patiently for someone to see them.
We are deeply touched. We have cried. Because moments like this remind us that goodness is still alive in this world. That compassion circles back. That love doesn’t forget.
Cookie and Chevy will soon reach their new home, and we cannot wait to share their journey as they step into the next chapter of their lives — side by side, exactly as it was meant to be. Lets wish Cookie and Chevy along with their family a wonderful new beginning.

Reno was adopted by a wonderful gentleman but unfortunately his dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness so the best thing for Reno was to find him another wonderful home.
