Pasco Horsemens Association is a not-for-profit organization ran by elected officers and board members, that strives to teach good horsemanship and good sportsmanship. No alcohol or drugs permitted on the property. We encourage all riders, any age and any ability to participate and learn. We have something for everyone; western, english, speed events and obstacles. We try to keep the prices low so

everyone can afford to come ride. Yearly individual memberships are $75.00 with additional qualifying family members being $5.00 each. Please visit our website at www.pascohorsemens.org for our schedule.

☆Show Series Rules☆

Welcome to the Dust vs. Lightning Show Series! This series is designed to be fun, fair, and competitive for riders of all experience levels.

■ Classes
• Open Ranch Rail (AQHA Rules)
• Novice Ranch Rail (AQHA Level 1 Rules)
• Open Ranch Pattern (AQHA Rules)W/T/L
• Novice Ranch Pattern (AQHA Level 1 Rules) W/T
• Open Barrels
• Novice Barrels
• Open Speed
• Novice Speed

■Choosing Your Division

Riders will choose the division that best matches their experience.
• If you normally compete in barrel racing or speed events, you will compete in the Open Speed classes.
• If you have never competed in ranch classes, you may compete in the Novice Ranch classes.
• If you have experience in both speed and ranch disciplines, you will compete in the Open division for both.
• If you are completely new to both disciplines, you will compete in the Novice division for both OR if your horse has never competed in either.
• For Ranch OPEN Class - W/T/L - please know that if you choose NOT to Lope and just W/T you will not be penalized, this series is for fun and learning.
✨️As the series progresses, the Ranch Pattern and the second Speed class will gradually increase in difficulty. Patterns and speed class selection will be posted at least 2 weeks prior to each show.

■Moving Up
• Novice Barrel riders who run faster than 23 seconds will be moved to the Open division.
• Novice Ranch riders who demonstrate a level of skill consistent with the Open division may also be moved up at the judges’ discretion.

■Horse Requirements

To be eligible for high point awards, riders must compete on the same horse in all four classes during each show.

You may use a different horse at the next show, but that horse must also be used for all four classes that night.

■ Dress Code

All riders are required to wear full western rodeo attire:
• Cowboy hat or riding helmet
• Long-sleeve button-down shirt
• Jeans
• Western boots

■Rider Numbers

Each rider will receive a competition number at the beginning of the series. This number must be used for every show throughout the series, so do not lose it.

■Series Eligibility

Riders must compete in at least 3 of the 4 shows to be eligible for the Overall High Point and Overall Reserve Champion awards.

■Points

Points will be awarded in each class as follows:

• 1st Place – 5 points
• 2nd Place – 4 points
• 3rd Place – 3 points
• 4th Place – 2 points
• 5th Place – 1 point
Points from all four classes will be combined to determine each rider’s total for the night.

■Awards

Each show will recognize:
• High Point Champion
• Reserve High Point Champion

At the end of the series, we will also award:
• Overall High Point Champion
• Overall Reserve Champion

Entry Fees
• All 4 Classes: $35.00
• Single Class: $10.00 each
• Grounds Fee: $5.00 per rider
• Exhibition Runs (Expo):
◦ $5.00 each
◦ $20.00 Unlimited
• Hat Fine: $5.00
