We are heartbroken 💔

This morning, our precious Raven—a stunning black Arabian mare—took her last breath, safe in my arms.
To look at her was to see a testament to resilience, but her battle was simply too great. Her beautiful spirit was trapped in a body ravaged by starvation; she lost all muscle mass, and those back legs, which should have known nothing but the joy of a gallop, could no longer lift her.
We may not have been able to give her time, but we gave her love, dignity, and a gentle passing surrounded by care.
Rest in peace, my special girl. You fought a valiant fight. Now, your spirit is free from pain. Run free and strong in paradise, sweet Raven. We will never forget you. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Our dearest Peanut.

It’s hard to find the words to honor the weight of a little life that carried so much purpose. Back in 2015, she was just a scared, tiny orphan mini filly, facing the worst of fates in a kill pen. We pulled her out of darkness, but she, in turn, pulled us into our destiny.

Peanut didn't just become a part of our lives; she is the foundation of everything. She’s the very reason A Place for Peanut exists, the quiet, persistent voice that drove us to save one life, then two, and ultimately, over 500 souls. Every single rescue we’ve ever celebrated, every heart we've healed, every animal we've given a second chance—it all started with her. She is our first and our most profound hero.

Now, as we face the heartbreaking news of her lung cancer, the time for grand rescues has passed, and the time for quiet love has begun. Giving her peace is the last, greatest gift we can offer our founder. We are letting her spend her final, beautiful days exactly where she wants to be: soaking up the sun and peacefully grazing by the pond she loves.

Please, hold her and her monumental legacy in your hearts. She may be small, but the ripple effect of her life is vast. Our love for her is infinite, and her gentle, courageous spirit will continue to guide every life we save.
