New World Screwworm Update

If you’ve got pets, it’s time to check them for screwworm.

Recently, four cases of the New World screwworm have been confirmed in Texas. While the story has largely focused on the cattle industry, all warm-blooded animals are at risk of infection — including dogs, cats and occasionally even humans.

Warby isn’t just stepping on stage—he’s owning it. With that wild, spiky mohawk of fur standing straight up, he looks like he was born for the spotlight. His big, bright eyes lock forward with confidence, like he knows the crowd is already his. The black leather jacket, studded collar, and star pendant give him full rockstar attitude, while his paws grip the guitar like a seasoned performer.

Behind him, the glowing “Rock Paws” sign and stage lights cut through the haze, framing him as the main act. One paw is planted forward, stance wide and powerful, as if he just hit the first chord of a loud, electrifying set. You can almost hear the amps humming and the crowd cheering.

Introducing S.A.V.E. NextGen!
We are excited to launch S.A.V.E. NextGen, our new junior advisory board for high school and college students who are passionate about animal rescue and looking to gain meaningful leadership experience while helping homeless pets!
We are looking for motivated young people (approximately ages 16–22) who can commit to 1–2 volunteer hours per week and have reliable transportation to occasional events or meetings.

✨ What members will do:
• Help promote adoptable animals on TikTok & Instagram
• Participate in “virtual fostering” partnerships with current foster homes
• Create better photos, videos, bios, and adoption posts
• Assist with fundraising and foster recruitment
• Gain real-world leadership and nonprofit experience

✨ Ideal candidates are:
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Comfortable with social media
• Creative and communicative
• Passionate about animals and advocacy
• Looking to build leadership skills and make a real impact

Members will receive:

I'm sure this isn't the you were expecting!

NASA’s Artemis II mission is preparing to take humans back toward the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years, but anime fans quickly noticed that mission control was carrying some very obvious Sailor Moon energy.

The moment went viral after viewers spotted a small plush of Artemis, the white cat from Sailor Moon, sitting casually on a desk inside the control room.

Fans also noticed that one staff member was wearing a Sailor Moon-themed lanyard featuring Usagi Tsukino, making the crossover feel way too specific to be accidental.

That detail instantly made the moment even more perfect for anime fans. Sailor Moon centers around Usagi and a group of guardians whose powers are tied to the Moon, stars, and planets, while Artemis serves as one of the series’ iconic feline guides and strategists.

One fan summed it up perfectly by writing, "Who do you think is at NASA now? Those kids who grew up with Sailor Moon and Gundam on Toonami. It makes total sense they would know the references. Those childhood nerds are now NASA nerds!"

Another fan wrote, "The Artemis program, being watched over by the real Artemis. I hope this reaches Naoko Takeuchi. It’s the ultimate emotional high that the ‘yearning for the moon’ she drew more than 30 years ago is now being loved at the forefront of NASA like this."

So while Artemis II was preparing to bring humanity back toward the Moon, mission control was apparently doing it with full magical girl support.
