🐾 Unpopular Opinion… But It Needs to Be Said
Letting your cats roam indoor/outdoor is not safe — please don’t do it.

We know this might ruffle some feathers, but as a shelter that sees the heartbreaking outcomes every single week, we have to speak up.

Outdoor cats face so many dangers:
🚗 Cars
🐺 Wildlife
🦅 Predators
🦠 Disease & parasites
🌡️ Extreme weather
🚫 Getting lost or stolen
💔 And sadly, intentional harm

Many of the cats who end up in our care were once “indoor/outdoor” pets who never made it back home.

If you love your cat, keep them safe inside. If they crave adventure, there are safer alternatives:
✔️ Catios
✔️ Leash training
✔️ Enrichment toys
✔️ Window perches
✔️ Safe supervised outdoor time

It’s not about judgment — it’s about protection. Your cat depends on you to keep them safe. 🐱

Marcy and Venus are two German Shepherds who can be pulled by a rescue but only if they can obtain foster homes. Their story is one of neglect living outdoors unprotected in the elements. Marcy (black shepherd) is 3 years old and Venus (tan shepherd) is 1.5 years old.

Free rabies vaccinations for cats and dogs — no appointment needed! Please have all pets on a leash or in a carrier, and bring previous vaccination proof if available!
