Paws4Survival was honored to be part of disaster recovery relief after Hurricane Melissa. When the first 58 dogs became available for transport, Panda Bear was our first pick. Her shining eyes drew us in immediately, and seeing how dedicated Negril Pup Rescue had been in helping her overcome swimmer’s syndrome gave us hope, it was clear that God had a plan.
Panda came to us from Jamaica just two weeks ago, ready to start a new chapter. From the very beginning, she showed us how special she was, full of zest for her walks and always making us laugh with her silly back-leg side kicks. Every moment with her was pure joy.
For exactly two weeks, she filled our days with love, doing chicken coop runs, snuggling in my daughter’s bed for special Panda Bear time, enjoying delicious treats, trips to adoption events, and long car rides. More than anything, Panda loved simply being by your side.
Today, our sweet Panda Bear crossed over after suffering a stroke and multiple seizures. Days like this are so hard to understand, but what brings comfort is knowing that even though our time together was short, it was filled with nothing but love. Panda, we only had you for two weeks, but it felt like a lifetime. It was an honor to be there with you at the end of your journey.
Fly high, sweet girl. You were truly one of a kind, loved deeply and missed beyond words.
Side note: We are working closely with the state vet regarding Panda’s passing.
