Trail Guides of Greater St. Louis Area Council, B.S.A.

Registered adult Boy Scout of America Volunteers who guide horseback trail rides and drive horse-drawn hayrides at Beaumont Scout Reservation.

Registered adult volunteers who are interested in teaching basic horsemanship, leading and guiding trail rides, and/or driving horse-drawn hayrides. Each guide must complete a certification training course about basic horsemanship and trail ride safety. Guides must participate in at least one workday per year. Those guides who put in 100 hours or more are recognized with a Silver Spur at the annua

l camping dinner/meeting. If you are a registered Scouter and are interested in becoming a Trail Guide please contact Ron Jennings for more information.

🐴Nagel Horse Camp 2025🐴

What a week!!!

Sunday - HOT, Check in, assigned Horses, practice saddling and getting comfortable riding in the ring.

Monday - HOT, morning trail ride, low ropes, and water obstacles

Tuesday - HOT, Morning trail ride, high ropes, and water obstacles

Wednesday - HOT!! Morning trail ride, afternoon blacksmothing and horses 101.

Thursday - Beautiful day for trail riding, climbing tower, and shooting sports.

Friday - perfect day for calvery drills and practicing for the show.

Saturday - Show day!!

Huge thank you to all of the trail guides and volunteers that took the time out of their week to help make this a great week.

An even BIGGER thank you to the participants. We hope to see everyone next year!

Last night at the Greater St. Louis Area Scouting Camping Committee Dinner/Meeting Robert (Bob) Schwedtmann was recognized as being the Trail Guides Coordinator for 55 years. Bob had announced his retirement as Coordinator of the committee earlier this year. Congratulations and THANK YOU for impacting thousands of Scouts lives over the years.
