We know summer is busy, so we offer a combination of workshops and series to help meet everyone’s busy schedules 📆

This summer, we’re emphasizing education! Check out these new offerings 🤩

Pints & PORTL
🍺 Pefect for anyone and everyone who is interested in behavior phenomenons and enjoys a good time! These are workshops that will last approximately 2 hours.

Kids & Canines
🐶 These workshops are perfect for kids looking to increase education on dogs and dog behavior, particularly with safety and handling in mind. This is great for kids looking to pet sit or dog walk. A certificate of completion will be provided.

Play & Socialization
🛝 These quick drop-in workshops provide necessary education for humans and socialization for pups 8-20 weeks of age.

Cooperative Care
💅 Prepare your dog for vet or grooming visits, or build their skills for general care at home. Nail trimming, vet care, and more will be covered. Equipment is provided.

Old Dogs, New Tricks
👵 A secret love to us ❤️ Slow the progression of canine cognitive dysfunction through this 4-week group course.

Rainy weather ☔️ have you and your dog feeling down?

Us too… but we desperately need the rain, so let’s make the most of it!

As many of you know, Madie’s dog, Tater, had abdominal surgery this past Tuesday. This already reduces his physical exercise, but now he can’t even enjoy his favorite pass time - sunbathing! ☀️

Here’s Tater’s favorite pass time activity. He hopes it’ll help brighten another dog’s day! 🙂

🐶✨ **Superstar Available!!** ✨🐶

It’s me, Atlas! 🤎🐾 You might not recognize me without my sister Nala, but my personality shines bright🌟😊

Yesterday, I joined a Bark 4 Joy trainer on a “Breakout Adventure” ☀️🏖️.

I quickly jumped into the car kennel, and we drove off to the water 🌊✨. I had an absolute blast! If the trainer had let me, I would’ve taken a full swim, not just waded in the shallows.

A few more fun facts about me:
🐾 I’m about 3 years old
🚗 I am shy at first, but with patience and scratches, I’ll become your favorite doggo
🐕 I like to walk, whether it’s to a specific destination or just to smell the roses 🌹
🐠 I’m secretly a fish, and I’d love to go swimming
🏠 I’m willing to give a new home a try even if it’s without my sister!

Most incidents with children and dogs are preventable and come down to three key things: education, supervision, and teaching children clear boundaries around dogs.

Education means helping kids understand basic dog body language like when a dog is turning away, freezing, or asking for space. Supervision means adults staying actively engaged anytime kids and dogs are together, not just being in the same room. Teaching means practicing simple rules consistently, like “ask before you pet,” “no hugging dogs,” and “give dogs space when they move away.”

Bark 4 Joy values childhood education surrounding pets. Our Certified Dog Bite Prevention Educator, Madie, offers educational talks on this topic.

When kids learn how to read and respect dogs, and adults stay present to guide interactions, we create safer, more positive relationships for everyone 💛

Meet service dog in training, Caspian ❤️

This young fella is 10 months old, and he’s building strong behavior to become a service dog one day!

The road to becoming a service dog is not easy, for both the dog and handler. The dog must learn to navigate a human’s world, and the human must understand their dog, along with national and state service dog laws.

We are so proud of how far this guy has come! 💖

Tater, our new ambassador pup, is currently undergoing surgery 😭 After a very long weekend, we are hopeful this is the answer to why our poor boy lost so much weight, energy, and interest in food.

We aren't the type to ask for help, but with Madie being pregnant and an already reduced workload, any contributions are appreciated!

If you'd like to support Madie and Tater in a different way, virtual coaching programs are available in addition to limited in-person sessions. We are also rolling out new group classes.

The GOLDEN BACHELOR, Helena edition ✨💖

My past is my past, but the future? Boy I have big plans. ☀️🐕

I’m seeking unconditional love in the form of cuddles, treats, and a nice bed to curl up on at the end of a long day 😴🥱

Yesterday, this dog trainer with Bark 4 Joy took me to the park for my headshot photos. Not really sure why 🤷‍♀️, but I enjoyed the sunshine on my skin, cuddles, and the smell of roses 🌹

🐾 I’m about 9, but I’m in my golden years 👑
⛰️ I would LOVE to chase a ball during the day, but I’m also down to snuggle
🌱 I love to roll in the grass for a good scratch

Bark 4 Joy has been voted Best Dog Trainer in Montana by our loyal clients since 2022 (P.S., voting starts in June 😉). We are dedicated to providing clients with the highest quality service and education.

Madie, CEO and lead trainer, has built this business from the ground up to serve the Helena community. As an Instructor of Anthrozoology, her heart lies within education. This is also shown through her numerous certifications and continuing education credits.
