Went back to the same spot - even colder, but hunting was just as good. It was Ella's turn today.

Poor Ella. Poor Kraig. 2 hours of burr removal. This has to be the worst I've seen her. The metal horse comb worked pretty well though. Except in the most matted areas. Those places required scissors. Quinzy will have to wait until tomorrow.

New Years Day pheasant hunt - returned to a hunting spot that I haven't to been for a couple years. I remember why now. The burrs are horrible. My wool pants don't look much better than the dogs. And every time I've hunted here - Ella has gotten a face full of porcupine. You'll see that despite the quills and burrs - Ella kept on hunting.

The cold front is moving out. It got up to 15 today. Didn't stop a great pheasant hunt though.

Finally! I have updated (OK - totally redesigned) our website. It will still undergo some fine tuning to work out some bumps (I'm experimenting a little) - but it's launched....

An amazing October hunt in Alberta. Quinzy earned her keep, retrieving a seemingly nonstop supply of birds. She snuggled in cozy with me while waiting in the blind for the birds to come in as well.

As you could probably guess - Ella's breeding was not successful. Looks like no pups for us in 2014. We are very disappointed and hope 2015 has a far better outcome!
