Mick passed away suddenly in July. Unbeknownst to his family, he had a tumor on his heart. It ruptured. He passed with his Furever Mom by his side. During his last 6 months, Mick traveled with his newest furever brother. He got to see Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota and Wyoming. He even got to dip his feet in the ocean. Which, by the way, he was not fond of. The waves caught him off guard. I will remember always - the way he hid when there was thunder or fireworks, the way he would beat up on his toys and then lick them to make up to them, the way he would hold his own leash and play keep away with it, the way he told me it was bedtime so he could cuddle (but only for a few minutes), the way he always was up for a walk (especially if there was snow involved) and the way he would stare into my eyes, waiting, waiting for that right word. Or the next adventure. Today, it has been 6 months since he passed. I miss him horribly. I think about him every day. Until I see him again … on the Rainbow Bridge…..
