Our horse of the month is Rose! 🌹 Rose was a school horse at Rising Hope for years. She has taught countless children how to ride, taught horse camps and shows, therapeutic riding, and riding demonstrations. Can you believe Rose turned 33 this month? Her wonderful owner still rides her!

We have started the Red Roan Fund in her honor to help expand therapeutic offerings at Rising Hope. Please follow the zeffy link to donate!

Thank you for all of the tribute tags KelChris Farm we sure appreciate you cutting these off your grain bags and bringing them to us.

Tribute Equine Nutrition has an awesome program for nonprofits, we collect their tags throughout the year and get 💴 back when we turn them in! You can send your tags to the barn or drop them off if you’re in the area. Each proof is worth something and we use the 💰 to care for our school horses.

A few weeks ago we had to say goodbye to one of our long term beloved boarders, Peaches aka Big Peaches 🍑 owned by Norm and Christine VanWormer. Susan has cared for her at their summer home for a few years and Peaches spent the winter at Rising Hope with her sidekick, Itsy-Bitsy Raindrop, a.k.a. Itty-Bitty. She is missed by all who knew her sweet face and know she is running in greener pastures now.

Say hello to Rainey, our new school horse! She was purchased from (Phoebe’s old polo coaches) and we are very excited about having her on the roster. Thanks for trying her out for us and bringing her home. After she learns some horsemanship from our instructors and gets into shape, she will be ready for lessons!

It’s our job to do right by our horses. Princess is moving on to her new life of leisure! She has been an amazing horse for us to use the last four years, but was not enjoying all of the different riders. We know her new family will enjoy her as much as we have!

Kamali is fitting right in! She is such a kind horse and we are already in love with her. School horses have a tough job and they have to have the best minds to be able to be safe and forgiving, we strive to have sane and capable horses for our students to learn from.
