GUNTERSVILLE: The son of Mayor Dollar (John Dollar) found this poor soul, shivering and freezing, today in Andrew Jackson Heights. He cared enough to bring her in to check her for a microchip. No collar, no chip. She has worn down teeth, several injuries, in heat, loaded with intestinal worms, infested with fleas, and tested positive for heart worms😔. Yet she is the SWEETEST girl. Please share. He is taking care of her until her owner can be found or she can find a kind family to take her in. We dewormed her, treated her eye, and started her on flea medication. Do you recognize her? If so, please message us!!! She needs a LOT of medical care. This is a huge financial burden for the Dollar family to take on for a dog that does not belong to them. If no owner is found, we will ask people to help donate to her spay and heart worm treatment. For now: PLEASE SHARE in case someone has been looking for her. THANK YOU, John Dollar, for not turning a blind eye to this poor girl who has obviously had a rough time lately!!! Those sad eyes tell a heartbreaking story 😢

GOOD NEWS FOR TODAY!!!! Remember Buddy, the stray dog who has lived with us for 7 months??? The one we did a heart worm treatment on and someone graciously helped us pay for it?? The one we have posted over and over for adoption, but was continuously overlooked?? He left the building today🥳. This absolute ANGEL offered to foster him so he could get a break from living in a hospital kennel day in and day out. There are no words to describe how happy this made us💙. He is not a designer breed, he’s an older gentleman, but he still deserves to feel loved. We will check in with her in a few days to see how he does in a home environment so we can continue to search for his forever home. For today: we will be SO GRATEFUL he is finally getting to feel wanted 🥹🥹🥹

Another successful fracture repair performed by Dr. Reid Pearlman of North Alabama Veterinary Orthopedics today at LGVS. He let high school senior Gabbi Lett, who plans to attend Mississippi State University to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine (Dr. Martha and Dr. Pearlman both graduated vet school there), enter the sterile field to observe the surgery. Another patient who had broken legs fixed by him earlier in the week even stopped by to say “hi” on his new legs 💙. If you want to know how closely we monitor our patients during recovery, Dr. Lovett is demonstrating…. TLC is a huge part of their recovery, and they get plenty of it!!

We can finally officially welcome our new full time vet, Dr. Liz Lovett 🎉🎉. Pictured here with Dr. Martha and our traveling orthopedic vet Dr. Pearlman (owner of North Alabama Veterinary Orthopedics). Dr. Lovett and her husband Matthew recently moved to Guntersville from Chattanooga. She graduated from University of Tennessee vet school in 2007 and previously worked at the same clinic in Chattanooga for 18 years. She brings a wealth of experience and surgical skills, and we are so happy she will be with us full time now! We will continue to offer our clients gold standard medicine and surgery with less wait time🙌. Please give her a warm welcome to Guntersville and to the LGVS family!

We may not be the cheapest clinic in town, but we are 100% the most dedicated. After a LONG day with multiple life threatening emergencies, our staff continues to care for your babies long after closing time. Danyka is at the clinic 3 hours after her shift ended checking on an old lab with pancreatitis while caring for a 14 week old French bulldog that had life threatening GI surgery yesterday. We are exhausted after a very stressful 48 hours. But we are FaceTiming our doctors with updates of our patients. We are giving it 110% for your pets. And we are ready to do it all again tomorrow 🐶 🐈 ❤️‍🩹.

GUNTERSVILLE: SHARE!! This sweet gentleman was walking this morning close to the clinic and thought he saw a deceased dog in the lake. He saw it move and rushed to us to come help. Paige waded out to get her and we currently have her warming up at LGVS. She appears very well cared for and definitely an older girl. She is unable to stand or walk currently. Found across from River Rock Plantation homes on Wyeth Drive. Call ASAP if you know where she belongs (owner must positively ID what she had around her neck). PLEASE SHARE!!!! 256-486-9053

So excited to announce we are now carrying Bravecto Quantum 🥳. This is a once-a-year flea and tick injection available for dogs. It is the same as the oral Bravecto pill, but now in an injectable form. It is just as safe as the oral form, but MUCH more convenient. One injection under the skin = no fleas and ticks for 12 months 😎. Call to get your pups on the schedule!!
