Polydactyl alert (has lots of extra toes, also known as “Hemingway cats”…😻😻. This beautiful, unique 3 month old girl is available for adoption today. She’s had her first vaccines and a clean bill of health. She was saved by THE Jay Stratton of The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, so we’re affectionately calling her “Skinwalker” 🥰🥰

If you were one of the many clients that brought your pet to LGVS today, chances are you had a longer wait time than usual. This was the scene at 8 am, 30 minutes after a life threatening emergency came through our doors at opening. A beloved elderly pet, suffering from a terrible accident, brought in on a stretcher covered by her blood soaked cartoon blanket. We all immediately jumped in to provide life saving care. When these things happen, time is of essence and we will stop everything we are doing to provide immediate critical care measures. This dog needed hours of urgent attention, which our highly trained staff took turns providing today in the midst of our already scheduled surgeries and appointments. If you had to wait today: be THANKFUL. We had several other emergencies after this one, and many owners had to leave without their pets today. When this happens, we have no choice but to triage the most critical. If you had to wait, chances are that you got to take your furbabies home with you. On that note, we have a hospital full of pets fighting for their lives tonight; please send them all the good vibes… And please know that if it is ever your pet that needs urgent, life saving care, we will stop everything we are doing to make sure they get immediate, “all hands on deck” attention. As always, we value our wonderful clients and appreciate you all more than you know for being patient with us and trusting us with your valued furry family members 🩷 ~signed, some very exhausted veterinary staff members who will be there tomorrow, ready to do it all again~

HAPPY UPDATE ON OUR SNAKEBITE DOGS: Many of you saw our post about the 2 dogs that were bitten by the copperhead last Thursday. After 3 bags of anti venom and a stay at a 24/7 emergency hospital for the one who was bitten on the tongue, we are happy that Stella and Gypsy are both home and expected to make a full recovery 🩷. As you can see in the last photo, Gypsy is still healing from the injury to her tongue, but we are treating it and monitoring it very closely. She is happy and eating🙌. THANK YOU to the Bovee family for always trusting us with the care of these precious girls! (And a huge thank you for lunch today)…

KNOW YOUR SNAKES! We are currently at the clinic providing life saving care for 2 dogs from the same family in Guntersville. “Stella” presented with classic symptoms of a venomous snake bite. She immediately received life saving antivenom, even though at the time no snake was found. The owners did not originally see the snake, until their second dog was bitten a few hours later. “Gypsy” just arrived and is currently receiving antivenom. The culprit was a juvenile Copperhead. These snakes are DANGEROUS. Time is crucial, and having the correct antivenom is of utmost importance. Know the symptoms and know your snakes! Please send good vibes to Stella and Gypsy 🩷🩷. (And a huge shoutout to our very dedicated staff for being here 4 hours after closing)!

We have some BEAUTIFUL babies for adoption😻. They are all negative for feline leukemia and FIV, have been dewormed, and have received all age appropriate vaccinations. The ones that are old enough to be spayed/neutered have already had their surgery. Adoption fee is $95. For more info or to adopt, CALL 256-486-9053. We have a long waiting list of cats that need to come to our adoption program, so when you adopt one you actually save 2 lives because it opens a spot for another kitty in need🩷. 🩷Survivor story🩷. Sweet Caroline came in as an emergency after developing life threatening anemia from an autoimmune disease called Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. This terrible disease causes the body to aggressively attack its own red blood cells and is considered an urgent life threatening emergency. Thanks to 2 separate dogs that provided blood for 3 separate transfusions, Caroline is back to her happy, healthy self today ❤️‍🩹. She spent many days at the hospital fighting for her life and we grew to love her so very much. She will be on long term medication to prevent future attacks, but this picture of her today shows what a fighter she is! Do you want to help save others like Caroline? If you have a dog age 1-7 that is over 50 pounds, negative for heart worms, and updated on vaccines, your pet can be a hero blood donor as the need arises for cases like hers. We are looking to put together a list of dogs that can be “on call” to donate blood in these situations. If your dog meets above criteria and you are willing to put them on the list, please email us at [email protected]. There is no harm to the donor dog and no cost to the donor’s owner. Please let us know if we can add your dog to our emergency donor list. We have 2 ADORABLE guinea pigs looking for a forever home😍. Very well socialized, used to being handled. These are sweet, easy pets🩷. We would love for them to stay together if possible. 🔥 Shew, it’s getting hot in LGVS 🔥 If you didn’t notice, there are cute kittens in this picture 😜. These babies were dropped at the Guntersville Fire Department on the 4th of July and when they reached out to us, of course we agreed to help. We are always so grateful for our First Responders and will always help them in any way we can. With that being said, welcome to the adoption program at LGVS, Match and Fuse😻😻. Do you want to help too? Here’s how to help: 1. Sponsor one for $50 (to cover a portion of their leukemia test, vaccines, flea treatment, deworming, food and litter). 2. ADOPT one or both 😸.
