This week we're excited to introduce one of our amazing veterinary technicians, Riley... along with her adorable "dog twin," Trace! ❤️🐶

Riley has been a valued member of the Handsboro Animal Hospital family since 2021, but her passion for veterinary medicine started much earlier. She began working in the field at just 16 years old and has gained years of hands-on experience caring for animals.

When she's not helping care for your furry family members, Riley enjoys spending time outdoors, working out, and making memories with her own dogs, Balor and Dixie.

Riley takes great pride in providing the very best care for every patient who walks through our doors, and we're grateful to have her as part of our team.

🌿🐱 3 Common Houseplants That Can Be Toxic to Cats 🐱🌿

When we think about keeping our cats safe, we often think about medications, cleaning supplies, or foods. But have you ever considered the houseplants you bring into your home?
Here are 3 of the most common plants that can be dangerous for cats:

🪴 Lilies – Even a tiny amount of pollen, a leaf, or the water from the vase can cause severe kidney failure in cats. This is a true emergency.
🪴 Pothos (Devil's Ivy) – A popular, easy-to-grow houseplant that can cause painful mouth irritation, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing if chewed.
🪴 Sago Palm – One of the most toxic plants for pets. Even a small bite can lead to vomiting, liver failure, seizures, and can be fatal.
